While the gowns and tailored suits turned heads, it was the footwear that stole the spotlight. From sleek Christian Louboutin pumps to shimmering Jimmy Choo sandals, the night was a masterclass in red-carpet shoe moments.
Ahead, we’re revisiting ten standout looks from the event—proof that even a decade later, these celebrity shoe choices remain timeless. Which star, in your opinion, deserves the title of Best in Footwear?
1. Renée Zellweger Shines in Christian Louboutin “So Kate” Pumps & Carolina Herrera
Renée Zellweger used a pair of gold-detailed “So Kate” pumps from Christian Louboutin to go with her black Carolina Herrera dress. The shoes feature towering 5-inch-tall heels, so they’re no joke to walk in.

Renée’s exact pair may have been a special variation, but the So Kate remains one of Christian Louboutin’s most enduring icons. First launched in 2013 as an evolution of the original “Kate” pump from 2012—named in honor of supermodel Kate Moss—the style was designed to capture Moss’s sharp, effortless elegance.
The “So Kate” amped up that legacy with a sleeker, steeper silhouette and sky-high heel that quickly became a red-carpet staple. You can still shop the classic So Kate pumps at Nordstrom and Mytheresa.

2. Michelle Monaghan Stuns in Christian Louboutin “Impera” Lace-Up Pumps & Altuzarra
Actress Michelle Monaghan also wore Christian Louboutin for the occasion. Her choice, however, was a little more adventurous.

Michelle Monaghan styled her heels with a cream-colored Altuzarra Resort 2015 dress, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, and David Yurman pavé earrings, a Venetian ring, and bracelets.
She slipped on the “Impera” lace-up pumps, which were the perfect match to her very simple dress. This style is sold out everywhere.

3. Emmy Rossum Channels Power Chic in Versace Pantsuit & Louboutin “Geo” Pumps
Emmy Rossum channeled “lady boss” for the occasion by slipping into a Versace pantsuit. She styled the combo with smoky eye makeup and some fancy glitter Geo pumps from the popular French shoe designer.

Unlike the classic ‘Geo’, which is spiked at the cap toes, Emmy’s pumps were detailed with glittered uppers that followed a lattice-like pattern.

4. Doutzen Kroes Keeps It Minimal in White Dress & Block-Heel Sandals
Doutzen Kroes flaunted her very trim post-baby figure in a one-of-a-kind pair of block-heel, ankle-strap sandals. She used the shoes to cap off a simple white dress.

The look was very understated but still elegant.

5. Nikki Reed Adds Sparkle in Jimmy Choo “Lang” Sandals
Nikki went against the cocktail-dress crowd, choosing a pale-grey strapless ruffled gown from Marchesa’s Resort 2015 collection. The dramatic silhouette may have felt overdressed compared to the rest of the room, but it worked in her favor.

She finished the look with Jimmy Choo’s metallic-silver “Lang” sandals and a coordinating clutch, bringing a polished shine to the romantic gown. Standing out is never a bad thing — and Nikki pulled it off beautifully.

6. Kerry Washington Elevates Calvin Klein with Louboutin “Miss Rigidaine” Heels
New mom Kerry Washington also chose Christian Louboutin heels for the occasion. She used the “Miss Rigidaine” pumps to punctuate a very short dress from Calvin Klein.

The Miss Rigidaine features PVC panels decorating the vamps and heel counters. While we agree that they’re dainty and exquisite, we feel Kerry should have chosen a more adventurous pair to go with her dress. What do you think?

7. Julianne Hough Sleeks It Out in Calvin Klein Dress & Casadei Blade Pumps
Julianne Hough channeled minimalism with her outfit choice for the event.

She wore a simple blue Calvin Klein dress and finished the look with metallic silver pointy pumps — a pair from Casadei’s famous Blade collection. Below is a nude version.

8. Britt Robertson’s Metallic Moment in Dior & Louboutin “Mariniere” Sandals
Former Secret Circle star Britt Robertson graced the event, looking like she was at prom. Her Dior dress was not the most flattering in terms of color and cut.

Thankfully, her strappy heels made up for the lack of glamour. Britt showed off her long toes in mixed-metallic sandals that looked a lot like the “Mariniere” from Christian Louboutin.

9. Elizabeth Banks Embraces Florals in Michael Kors & Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” Sandals
Elizabeth Banks surprised a lot of people when she arrived at the event in a girly fuchsia frock from Michael Kors, detailed with a million floral appliques. She toted a navy satin Amanda Pearl clutch and accessorized with Vita Fede jewelry.

It was a busy dress, no doubt, but she styled it perfectly with simple ankle-strap sandals from Stuart Weitzman — the famous “Nudist.”

10. Amy Poehler Polishes Calvin Klein with Classic Ankle-Wrap Platform Pumps
We weren’t too happy with Amy Poehler’s Calvin Klein Fall 2014 dress choice for the evening, but we did enjoy looking at her shiny ankle-wrap platform pumps. She accessorized with David Yurman labyrinth and quatrefoil bracelets.

At just 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm), Amy Poehler stands slightly below the average American woman’s height of 5 feet 4 inches (162.6 cm).
She wears a US shoe size 7, and while platform pumps may no longer be the trendiest silhouette, her classic ankle-wrap pair carried a timeless elegance that flattered her petite frame and remains stylish across seasons.

From Renée Zellweger’s gold-detailed Louboutins to Nikki Reed’s sparkling Jimmy Choos, the 2014 ELLE Women in Hollywood Celebration proved that great shoes never go out of style.
