Hilary Swank graced the premiere of her new film, ‘The Homesman’, held during the 2014 AFI Fest in Hollywood on Tuesday.

Dressed in a Giambattista Valli ensemble, Hilary seemingly defied two things: her age of 40 years and the space occupied by her waist. The skirt’s black waistband made it look as if the actress’ trim tummy disappeared into her crop top.
Coupled with the top’s away-from-the-body cut and the skirt’s flared silhouette, it was as if Hilary’s midsection was nonexistent.

We’ve seen this waist-whittling optical illusion style before on Kiera Knightley. Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart, and Rihanna also tried it, but the black-against-white contrast, like that on Hilary Swank’s outfit, creates the most extreme illusion.

Also creating an illusion, although less severe, were the Christian Louboutin “Just On” sandals on Hilary’s feet. The ankle straps connect to the footbed via clear straps, making the top parts appear to be detached.

The Just On sandals aren’t online yet but expect them to be available soon, along with the rest of the Christian Louboutin fall 2014 collection, at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
