Her parents have been divorced for over twenty years, and she has an older brother named Dennis. Reflecting on her upbringing, Jeannie has said, “There are several different traits that make up a person’s identity. For me, being Vietnamese American is the entirety of who I am.”

“The thing about being an Asian representative on the show is everything that comes out of my mouth is going to come from my culture, my lifestyle, my upbringing, so I am in a sense representing that,” she told Yahoo! in May 2021 about being the only Asian American co-host of “The Real”.
