While Jessica Simpson is often spotted in public, she is almost never seen wearing clothing, bags, or shoes from her eponymous fashion line.

The reason is that The Jessica Simpson Collection is owned by Sequential Brands Group, which is also the parent organization of brands such as Joe’s Jeans, Martha Stewart, and Ellen Tracy. Jessica is simply being paid to have her name put on their products.

Later the same day, she stepped out for dinner in New York City with her husband, Eric Johnson.

Jessica toted a Valentino Garavani Candystud polka-dot quilted leather shoulder bag and completed her outfit with Christian Louboutin “Glennalta” sandals in interwoven suede and metallic napa leather.

In April 2018, Sequential Brands Group acquired a majority interest in the Jessica Simpson Collection brand from Camuto Group.

“I am extremely honored to partner with Sequential Brands Group to continue the growth and integrity of the Jessica Simpson Collection,” Jessica Simpson said in a statement.

“Working together with the powerful management team at Sequential and with all of our trusted retailers and licensees, including Camuto Group, there is no limit to our success. I’m as committed as I was 10 years ago. Here’s to the next billion.”
