Developed by Megan Amram and Elizabeth Banks, the Peacock series follows the franchise’s tradition of a capella humor, this time shifting the setting from American campuses to the streets of Germany.
In November 2022, the cast arrived in New York City for a series of promotional appearances showcasing a mix of autumn layers and high-fashion footwear.
Joined by German actor Flula Borg, the trio braved the cold at the 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, performing an a cappella mashup of “99 Luftballons” and “Take On Me” atop a Peacock-themed float.

Adam opted for a gray wool jacket with a cream-colored sweatshirt underneath, styled with a turquoise scarf, black pants, and white sneakers. Flula, meanwhile, bundled up in a dark gray trench coat, an olive-green knit sweater, and a maroon turtleneck.
Parade Polish: Sarah Hyland Layers Plaid, Leather Gloves, and Brown Knee-High Boots
Showcasing her styling prowess, Sarah dressed up in a beige-and-pink plaid coat layered over a white turtleneck top and a brown mini skirt.

The petite American actress kept the look cohesive by adding a pair of brown leather gloves, brown tights, and knee-high brown leather boots.
She pulled her tresses up into a casual bun, showing off her diamond hoops. To complement her head-to-toe neutrals, the Geek Charming actress wore earth-toned makeup, fluttery eyelashes, and subtle smoky eyeshadow.

Menswear Edge: Sarah Hyland Sharpens a Charcoal Suit With Christian Louboutin Platform Sandals
The day before, Adam Devine and Sarah Hyland visited the Today Show studios to promote the new Pitch Perfect spinoff. Adam wore a dark denim jacket with a beige shirt, black pants, and white sneakers, while Sarah opted for a menswear-inspired suit.
She looked sharp in a loose-fitting charcoal suit consisting of an oversized, boxy jacket and wide-leg trousers.

Elevating her girl-boss look, Hyland slipped into a pair of towering platform sandals by Christian Louboutin. They feature thick crisscross straps, open toes, and towering block heels.
The Love Island USA host kept things sleek with black cat-eye sunglasses and further accessorized with hoop earrings and a black bag with a silver chain strap.

Rehearsal Chic: Sarah Hyland Keeps Warm in a Navy Trench Coat and Midi Skirt
Before their Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade stint, Sarah Hyland and Adam Devine were pictured rehearsing for the annual event outside Macy’s on 34th Street on Tuesday.
Adam looked stylish as he layered a printed shirt underneath a brown suede jacket, which he teamed with blue trousers and white-and-red Vans sneakers.
Sarah, on the other hand, kept things cozy in a chic navy trench coat with a white collar and a navy midi skirt underneath.

What Is Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin About?
Bumper Allen was introduced as the main antagonist in the first Pitch Perfect movie in 2012. Played by Adam Devine, Bumper was the arrogant leader of Barden University’s all-male a capella group, The Treblemakers.
He left the group to become John Mayer’s backup singer at the end of the first movie and returned in the sequel as the university’s security guard.

Fortunately, in the spin-off series, “Bumper gets a chance to be a hero of his own story in a foreign land filled with romance, comedy, strange new characters and hit songs,” executive producer Elizabeth Banks told People.
Bumper in Berlin follows Bumper’s journey to international stardom after a TikTok video of his a cappella mashup of the 1980s European hits 99 Luftballons and Take On Me goes viral in Germany.
Taking advantage of the moment, he travels to Berlin to revive his music career. Along the way, he meets his rival, German pop star Gisela (Jameela Jamil), and his assistant, Heidi (Sarah Hyland), with whom he develops a romantic relationship.
Sarah Hyland Says Her Height Cost Her a Pitch Perfect 2 Audition
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sarah Hyland revealed that she auditioned for Pitch Perfect 2 but didn’t get the part because of her 5’1” height.
“I was just a little bit too short; that was the only reason that I heard.”
Despite failing the audition, Hyland believes that “everything happens for a reason.”

She now gets to join her former Modern Family co-star Adam Devine in the Pitch Perfect spin-off, saying she’s “happy to be part of the franchise.”
“We got to film in Berlin and it was just the best time. I’m just happy to be part of the franchise, I’ve been friends with everyone from it for years.”
“It was so much fun being back together. When I was given this opportunity to work with Adam again, I just jumped at it because we love each other.”

In Modern Family, Sarah Hyland played Haley Dunphy, while Adam Devine appeared as Andy Bailey, Phil’s assistant and nanny, whose relationship with Haley evolved into a fan-favorite romance.
