Paris Hilton and Carter Reum’s first child, Phoenix, celebrated his first birthday back in January 2024, and the couple marked the milestone with a lavish “Sliving Under the Sea”–themed party at their Los Angeles home.

“Sliving”—a term Hilton coined in 2019 as a blend of slaying and living your best life—set the tone for the whimsical celebration. True to her signature over-the-top style, Hilton transformed the family’s backyard into an immersive underwater dreamscape, complete with vibrant, aquatic-colored balloon installations and playful marine-inspired decor.

Paris and Carter welcomed their son into the world in January 2023 through surrogacy, more than a year after their November 2021 wedding. The couple also shares a daughter, London Marilyn, who was born in November 2023 via surrogacy.

Sharing several pictures from the occasion, Paris Hilton expressed her gratitude to Balloon and Paper for bringing her “Sliving Under The Sea” theme to life.

Enormous arches were brimming with balloons in blue, red, and orange hues, as well as balloons shaped like various marine animals, including a gigantic whale.

To further enhance the party’s aquatic theme, glittering tinsel backdrops, inflatable coral and starfish, large seashells, and Greek column standees were also added. Disney’s The Little Mermaid soundtrack was also played in the background.

The extravagance didn’t end there; Paris Hilton even brought a ball pit and a petting zoo to her backyard, incorporating some land animals, including bunnies, goats, chickens, ducks, and sheep, into the underwater theme.

With a net worth of $300 million, it’s not shocking that Hilton could afford a mythical creature for her son’s birthday. A unicorn—more like a pony dressed as a unicorn—from Itty Bitty Petting Zoo made a surprise appearance at the party.

She styled her blonde hair in gorgeous waves cascading over her shoulders, wore her signature makeup look, and sported oversized sunglasses to cover her blue eyes.

“It’s Phoenix’s first birthday and we have a Sliving Under the Sea theme. So excited. I’ve thrown amazing birthday parties my whole life, so now to be able to do this for my little boy is just a special memory,” Paris said in an Instagram video while carrying her firstborn.
