In June 2013, Molly Sims surprised us with her shoe choice at the 2013 Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash in New York. The model-turned-actress kept her look easy and casual as she attended the event with her tiny tot. Molly paired a quarter-sleeved LBD with embellished cuff sandals from Isabel Marant’s current collection — the “Caroll Elvis.”

A Chic Yet Unexpected Footwear Choice
We honestly found the combination a little unexpected. For one, black sandals (to go with the black dress) would have been the most natural choice.
Another reason this combination isn’t the most flattering is that cuffed shoes paired with a midi dress can visually cut off the legs, making them appear shorter. The ankle straps of cuffed shoes create a horizontal line around the ankles, which can disrupt the natural line of the legs and give the illusion of a shorter silhouette, especially when the dress length falls below the knees.

Well, what do you think of the combination? Does the outfit deserve a two thumbs up? Did Molly score a hit?

You know, she didn’t look bad. Mixing black with brown isn’t the best in town, but it’s not a no-no. Surprisingly, Molly made it work. While you may miss us in the midi-and-cuffed-sandals combination (because we can’t afford to lose a few inches), Molly pulled it off thanks to her height of 5ft 9 ½ (176.5 cm).
Isabel Marant’s Elvis Sandals: Boho Meets Parisian Chic
The Elvis sandals are another unconventional creation from Marant’s brilliant mind. This eye-catching style features a fusion of Parisian chic and the Wild West, with Elvis-inspired embellishments all over.

In June 2013, Katie Lee styled her Isabel Marant ‘Caroll Elvis’ heeled cuff sandals with printed pants and a white blazer while leaving her hotel in New York. The combination of the busy leggings and studded sandals made a bold statement, though it was noted as an unconventional pairing.
These sandals can be a little intimidating given the elaborate metal stud adornments. The overall loudness can also be a bit of a turnoff for some. But if you can pull these off, you are one cool fashionista! There is also a heeled version available if you prefer the lift.

If you’re into achromatic dressing, the ‘Elvis’ sandals also come in classic black and white. Do note, however, that they are quite pricey. A pair will set you back a whopping $640 for the flats and a much higher $1,035 for the heels. Think they’re worth it?
