When an event includes the word “fashion” in the literal title — like the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards — you know we’re interested. The annual CFDA Awards honor excellence in fashion design, and have been dubbed “the Oscars of fashion.”
While the beautiful floor-length dresses stunned us, we were a little disappointed that the long gowns didn’t give us much of an opportunity to take a peek at the shoes on the red carpet.
Fortunately, we did spot a few cute mini and mid-length dresses, which allowed us a glimpse at some killer footwear at the event.
We’ve already featured both Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel‘s footwear picks, but here are some more shoes that caught our attention:
1. Olivia Palermo in Giuseppe Zanotti Booties
Olivia Palermo kept things fresh in a Dennis Basso Spring 2013 fringed frock, which featured a gold-embroidered sheer bodice and an ombre fringed skirt.
Rather than perfecting her look with a pair of dainty-looking light gold sandals, the actress added more shimmer with a pair of metallic gold booties.

We don’t think the sporty Giuseppe Zanotti booties were a great pick for her outfit or for the event, but we can’t deny that they’re stunning.
These open-toed booties are made of shiny calfskin and feature a corset-like lacing. They have open backs and about 4 1/4-inch two-tone plated heels.

Olivia’s shoes are from the Giuseppe Zanotti Spring/Summer 2011 collection and are no longer available online. However, you can find a similar design from the same brand at Farfetch.

2. Miranda Kerr in Stuart Weitzman Pumps
Another fresh-looking celeb of the night was Miranda Kerr.
The model donned a Proenza Schouler fit-and-flare frock, which she styled with black satin pumps by Stuart Weitzman.

Her pumps featured triple-buckled straps and V-shaped pointed-toe vamps, which added a bit of sophistication to her very fun and feminine dress.

We believe these pumps are from Stuart Weitzman’s Fall 2013 collection, so they’re not available online yet.
However, a similar style from Saint Laurent is available for purchase now at Nordstrom.

3. Nicole Richie in Giuseppe Zanotti Pumps
Nicole Richie looked like a sexy goddess in a Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 evening gown.
The backless gold lamé gown revealed some side boob and the look absolutely worked on Nicole’s slender frame.

Nicole paired the dress with metallic gold pumps from the same collection. These mirrored patent leather pumps feature pointed toes and about 4.5-inch cone-shaped heels.
Her shoes can surely work with any ensemble — even with jeans if you want to make a statement!

4. Kate Mara in Brian Atwood “Carla” Pumps
Kate Mara kept things rather simple in a black Dolce & Gabbana dress that featured intricate cutouts.
While we think a pair of simple earrings would have worked with this look, Kate opted to wear a bulky emerald green necklace.

The actress finished her look with a pair of peep-toe pumps from Brian Atwood. These patent leather shoes feature a latticework design and a layer of mesh. They’re also embellished with silver studs.

6. Alessandra Ambrosio in Gianvito Rossi “Marina” Sandals
Alessandra Ambrosio slipped into a one-shoulder, backless number from Kaufmanfranco, which she styled with white earrings.
Luckily, the model hiked her floor-length skirt up a bit when she stepped down from her car. If she hadn’t, we wouldn’t have caught a glimpse of her black-and-white sandals.

Her “Dufoura” sandals feature transparent neon PVC at the ankles and metallic lilac bands across the toes. The 5.5-inch heels have pale gray suede at the heel counters and the shoe’s 1.5-inch platforms are trimmed in white.
Jessica has Chinese characters inked on the top of her right foot. The three symbols stand for “luck,” “prosperity,” and “love.”
