Angelina Jolie recently signed on as a lead producer of the Broadway-bound adaptation of The Outsiders, directed by Danya Taymor and based on S.E. Hinton’s classic novel.

Joining her behind the scenes is her youngest daughter, Vivienne, who will serve as her volunteer assistant as she gains experience in the world of theater.

“Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the center of attention but on supporting other creatives,” Jolie told ET, calling her daughter thoughtful, serious, and eager to learn.

A source added that Vivienne has loved musical theater from a young age and accompanied her mom to the world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse—an outing that sparked their shared enthusiasm for the project.

A source told ET that Jolie had been deeply excited about the project, noting that she felt The Outsiders resonated strongly with young audiences. She was committed to ensuring their voices helped shape the Broadway adaptation.

Jolie produced the musical alongside The Araca Group, American Zoetrope, Olympus Theatricals, and producers Sue Gilad and Larry Rogowsky. “I felt very fortunate to be part of this special production,” she said at the time, reflecting on her early training at the Lee Strasberg Institute and her longtime love of theater.
