Wearing socks with heels has long been a controversial fashion statement. While some consider it tacky and a fashion faux pas, others think it’s chic and modern. Pairing such can be pretty challenging for me, too. To pull it off, though, I think it comes down to confidence and a sense of style. Needless to say, AnnaSophia Robb has both!

The 10th Annual Through Her Lens
This year’s special luncheon, presented by Chanel and Tribeca, honors the 10th anniversary of the Through Her Lens campaign. It is a filmmaking initiative that provides financial and project support and mentorship for emerging women writers and filmmakers in the United States.
Some of Hollywood’s most prominent and influential women came together to celebrate the future of women in film at the event hosted by Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of Tribeca Productions, at Locanda Verde, inside the Greenwich Hotel.
In addition to AnnaSophia Robb, other Chanel-clad guests include her The Act co-star Joey King, Through Her Lens Advisory Committee member Kerry Washington, Selma Blair, Katie Holmes, Diana Agron, and Ashley Benson.
AnnaSophia Robb Channels Clueless’ Cher Horowitz
Wearing a yellow tartan skirt from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection, AnnaSophia Robb transports us back to the 1990s, emulating Cher Horowitz, Alicia Silverstone’s character in the iconic 1995 coming-of-age teen comedy Clueless.
Robb’s high-waist mini skirt is crafted from Chanel’s renowned tweed fabric and designed with a checkered black, white, and yellow pattern. It is styled with a slim black leather-and-gold chain belt and features a thigh-grazing hem that lets Robb show off her toned pins.
AnnaSophia wore a black, form-fitting, rib-knit top that accentuated her svelte figure. See-through stripes ran down the front, with an interlocking CC emblem at the chest.

Although the outfit appears straightforward, I think it looks incredibly stylish. What I like best about it is that it’s sophisticated but relatable.
I love how the Soul Surfer actress kept the rest of her look classy, accessorizing with Chanel black-and-gold cube earrings and her Ascher-cut diamond engagement ring from her now-husband Trevor Paul, whom she married in 2022.
Her shoulder-length blonde hair was pulled back into a half-up, half-down style, with curtain bangs framing her minimally made-up gorgeous features. She highlighted her blue eyes with mascara and eyeliner and added a hint of eyeshadow. Her cheekbones were dusted with soft peachy blush, and her lips painted with complementary lipstick.

Her purse and heels were what truly drew me into this ensemble. She carried the Chanel Box Bag in black quilted lambskin leather with the French luxury fashion house’s signature chain-and-leather strap. A pair of black-and-white checkered pumps, also by Chanel, rounded out her look.
As I mentioned earlier, not everyone is a fan or can pull off heels with socks, but AnnaSophia does it effortlessly. She wrapped her feet in black socks before slipping into Chanel’s classic slingback pumps in black-and-white plaid, enhancing the ensemble’s 1990s retro vibe.
They feature black toe caps, a slingback strap, a cutaway side, and comfy 2.6-inch block heels.

AnnaSophia Robb Reunites with The Act Co-Star Joey King
AnnaSophia Robb and The Act co-star Joey King had a stylish reunion at the Chanel Tribeca luncheon.
In the 2019 Hulu biographical crime drama series, Joey King portrayed Gypsy Blanchard, who was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother. AnnaSophia played Blanchard’s neighbor and role model Lacey Hutches.
Wearing a $6,600 black lambskin mini skirt and a matching black quilted coat from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection, King went for a vampy outfit for the occasion.

Although I don’t particularly like the outfit—especially since it’s out of season—I have to give Joey King props for looking stunning.
I adore how the fuchsia accent at the waist of the thigh-grazing skirt matches the pink lining of her coat. She kept the rest of her ensemble basic, teaming the quilted skirt suit with just a black scoop neck tee and classic black pumps.
Honestly, I would have preferred the ensemble more if she had paired it with Chanel’s Mary Jane heels.

A few silver rings and a pair of silver earrings completed Joey’s minimalistic outfit that her longtime stylist, Jared Eng, put together.
Makeup artist Allan Avendaño emphasized Joey’s remarkable features with Chanel cosmetics, going for a seductive glam look. He painted Joey’s cheeks and lips pink and used delicate smokey pink eyeshadow and mascara to enhance her blue eyes.
Danielle Priano, on the other hand, gave her a messy hairstyle that hung loosely around her shoulders, adding to the sensual appeal.
