Elle Fanning joined Angelina Jolie on the red carpet at the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil world premiere held at El Capitan Theatre in LA on Monday evening.
Reprising her role as Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty, the 21-year-old actress looked every bit a Disney princess in her olive-green, flower-embellished off-shoulder gown by Gucci.

As enamored as we are by Elle, we were taken aback by the clunky and bulky nude-leather t-strap platforms on her feet.
The quadruple-platform pumps really weigh down the ethereal, enchantress-of-the-forest vibe of Elle’s gown.
The only reason we can think of why Elle wore these blocky heels is that the dress was too long and they ran out of time to make alterations.

Once her too-bulky platforms were out of sight, though, Elle continued to whisk us away to her land of fairy tale princesses.
It’s the addition of little details like her character’s pricked finger along with embroidered red blood drops down the front of her dress that really captures one’s imagination.

If you may remember, Angelina Jolie donned custom Christian Louboutin wedges with bloody spike heels while promoting the first Maleficent movie back in 2014.
It’s interesting that the bloody spindle continues to be a source of fashion inspiration for the second Maleficent movie promo tour.

An eruption of pale-hued flowers in her blonde hair, down her back, and on her velvet-ribboned sleeves completed Elle’s romantic princess look.

Do you agree that Elle should’ve worn a different pair of shoes?
