The Scream movies have had their ups and downs over the past few decades, but with Scream VI headed to theaters soon, the seminal horror franchise is definitely on the upturn.
Look no further than the cast of Scream VI, which features both fan-favorite talent and a glowing ensemble of young actors and actresses.
With the likes of Jenna Ortega, Tony Revolori, and Courteney Cox on the cast list, it’s clear that Scream VI will bring new and returning characters together for an all-out horror thrill-fest.

Set for release in just a few weeks, it won’t be long until Scream VI hits the big screen.
As we prepare for this next big horror outing, let’s get to know the cast of Scream VI and how this sequel plans to up the ante for the sixth time in the series. At the very least, one thing is for certain; we’re thrilled to see the cast of Scream VI in action!
Scream VI Brings the Frights to the New York
To clear up any confusion, Scream VI is a sequel to the 2022 film, Scream, and continues the story of the surviving Carpenter and Meeks siblings.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, who also brought us movies like V/H/S and Ready or Not, this Scream sequel brings Ghostface to the Big Apple.
Picking up the story after the events of the last film, Scream VI centers on Tara, Samantha, Chad, and Mindy as they move from their Californian hometown of Woodsboro to the ever-bustling New York City.
Although they hope to leave behind the traumatic experience of the Ghostface killings, familiar horrors await on the East coast. With the help of some unexpected allies, the young survivors will have to fight for their lives as Ghostface terrorizes the city.
The Young New Cast of Scream VI
The cast of Scream VI is packed with some of the best young talent in Hollywood, including returning and new characters.
Jenna Ortega is an obvious standout appearing as Tara Carpenter, riding the limelight after significant success with previous projects like Netflix’s Wednesday.

Musician and actress Melissa Barrera will also reprise her role as Tara’s older sister, Samantha Carpenter.
Appearing in the New York-based film must be slightly nostalgic for Melissa, as she earned her artistic education at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts in Manhattan.

Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding will also return as the twins Mindy and Chad Meeks.
Jasmin has already proven herself as a great actress, even crossing entertainment mediums and appearing in video games like 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
It’s great to see Mason Gooding still on the grind, as this son of the legendary actor Cuba Gooding Jr. has been steadily picking up roles over the past few years.

Scream VI also boasts several recognizable names who will appear as new characters, including Tony Revolori and Samara Weaving.
Although you probably know him as Flash Thompson from the recent Spider-Man films, Tony Revolori has been acting since he was just two years old.
While it’s rumored that her screen time will be minimal, it’ll be great to see Samara Weaving return to the horror genre after her success in 2019’s Ready or Not.

Classic Characters Return in Scream VI
Of course, no good Scream movie is complete without cameos from classic characters. Filling the role of the longtime lead who’s back to settle the score, Courteney Cox is returning as the cunning journalist Gale Weathers.
Gale is the only character who has appeared in every single Scream film to date, and Courteney Cox was actually the first person hired for the Scream VI cast.

That said, you shouldn’t expect a cameo from classic character Sidney Prescott, as actress Neve Campbell has clearly stated she’s not coming back for Scream VI.
Although Neve has appeared in all of the other Scream films so far, she has stepped away from the series following disagreements over her appearance wage with the production studio.

In a huge surprise, Scream VI will also feature the return of Hayden Panettiere, who hasn’t appeared in a film or television show in the past five years.
Hayden will reprise her role of Kirby Reed from 2011’s Scream 4, but details on how she fits into the story are somewhat shrouded in secrecy.

After the immense critical and box office success of the last film, we hope that Scream VI is worth the wait when it hits cinemas on March 10, 2023!
