Chrissy Teigen blended glamour with humor at the 2023 Baby2Baby Gala, proving once again that even fashion mishaps can’t overshadow a stunning red carpet look.

For the star-studded charity event held at the Pacific Design Center, the then-37-year-old cookbook author chose a showstopping one-shoulder black gown from Afffair, an Istanbul-based fashion house known for elevated eveningwear “inspired by women’s clothing with a great sense of sophistication.”

Part of Afffair’s Resort 2023 collection, the $2,500 gown featured bold beaded 3D floral appliques that traced a diagonal path from the left shoulder to a daring thigh-high slit—perfectly framing her statuesque silhouette and adding textural interest to the sleek crepe base.

Chrissy Teigen Handles Wardrobe Malfunction With Grace and Humor

The stunning gown’s one-shoulder silhouette and high-leg opening allowed Chrissy to showcase her toned arms and pins.

However, when the Cravings cookware founder took her seat, she revealed much more than she intended to. The back part of her exquisite gown split open, leaving a gaping hole that partially exposed her back.

Not letting a wardrobe malfunction ruin the enjoyable evening, Teigen laughed off the situation and even posted a photo of her mishap on her Instagram Story, captioning it, “Oh lol.”

Chrissy Teigen Showcases Saint Laurent “Clara” Sandals on the Red Carpet

John Legend’s wife also put her pedicured big feet on display in the Saint Laurent “Clara” sandals, available for $895 at Mytheresa.

These crepe satin sandals have pointed open toes, intertwined front straps, adjustable ankle straps, and thin covered stiletto heels, adding around three inches to the model’s 5ft 7 (170.2 cm) height.

The mom-of-four further styled her look with the Zydo “Hope” 18k white gold mixed-cut 4-diamond earrings and complemented her ensemble with the $1,950 Jeffrey Levinson “Finley” mirrored gold clutch.

Chrissy turned to her longtime stylist, Alana Van Deraa, to create her look for the charity gala.

Irinel de León swept her honey bob to one side and styled it in waves, while Kristine Studden applied mascara, bronzed eyeshadow, a brown nude lipstick, and matching blush to her cheeks.

A risk-taker when it comes to fashion, this is not the first time Chrissy has experienced a wardrobe mishap.

During the 2016 American Music Awards, she accidentally exposed her private part in a revealing black dress with waist-high splits held together by nothing else but safety pins.

She didn’t have panties on underneath, and in typical Chrissy Teigen style, she just laughed off the incident and gave credit to the laser hair removal expert she had seen before the event.

She also shared a few photos from the event with her Instagram followers and apologized to “anyone harmed mentally or physically by my hooha” in the caption.
