Jones said, “I am so happy – oh, thank you, Jesus. It has been a long journey. Thank you, God, for rocking with me the whole time. Thank you to my culture, who has stood beside me, raised together, been a really long journey.”
She recognized her team, adding, “Thank you to my team. Thank you for taking a chance on me. I didn’t have anything going for me at that time, so thank you.”
Jones continued, “I just want to thank God so much for keeping me when I didn’t understand [my life path], and for all my Black girls, we do have to fight a little harder to get what we deserve but don’t stop fighting, even when it doesn’t make sense, and you’re not sure how you’re gonna get out of those circumstances, keep pushing because we are deserving of great things, y’all.”
