Demi Lovato Rocks Biker Jacket and Edgy Looks for ‘Substance’ Jimmy Kimmel Performance — After Accidental Forehead Injury

In July 2022, Demi Lovato was gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated eighth studio album, Holy Fvck, scheduled to drop on August 19. “HOLY FVCK takes me back to my roots,” Demi shared, describing the album as “a body of work that’s unapologetically me, and I can’t wait to perform it on tour for you!”

Following the release of her lead single, “Skin of My Teeth,” just a month earlier, the then-29-year-old singer continued building excitement by debuting the album’s second track, “Substance,” with a live performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

For her guest appearance, the former Disney star went the rock-n-roll route and sported a black jacket adorned with silver chains, pins, and patches. Underneath, she wore a white band tee with red graphics and tucked it into a pair of black trousers with silver chains as a belt.

To complete her edgy punk-rock look, the Princess Protection Program star styled with a nose ring, a silver chain necklace, and a pair of black sneakers with silver spike studs.

Lovato, who came out as non-binary and temporarily changed her gender pronouns to they/them in May 2021, added a swipe of bold red lip color, well-defined thick eyebrows, and a hint of blush. She has since updated her pronouns to include “she/her.”

The Will & Grace star then wore a dark brown wig with blunt bangs that concealed her forehead cut, which she first revealed to her TikTok followers the night before her guest appearance.

Several hours before her guesting on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Camp Rock star took to the social media platform to share an accident that left her with stitches on her face.

Using the viral Nobody’s Gonna Know audio, the Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker is seen covering one side of her face and later revealing a cut right above her eyebrow. “Guess who hit their head on a crystal and has to get stitches before Kimmel tomorrow?” Lovato captioned the clip.

Explaining the accident further, Demi told guest host Mark Rober, “I was picking something up off the floor that I dropped. I’m a huge fan of crystals. I have an amethyst that is about this tall. It’s just really heavy and the pieces are sharp. Anyways, I went to bend down and pick something up, and I didn’t see the amethyst, and I hit my head and I had to get three stitches last night… in my face.”“I did what any sane person would do, and I made a TikTok before I even told [anybody],” she added.

Earlier in the day, the Sonny with a Chance star was seen sporting a cool grunge look on her way to the studio.

She showcased her legs in a green and navy plaid mini skirt teamed with a lace-detailed white shirt and a studded black leather biker jacket.
