Drew Barrymore has opened up about her thoughts on her ex-boyfriend Justin Long’s recent engagement to actress Kate Bosworth.
In a clip from an upcoming episode of The Drew Barrymore Show posted on Thursday, the 48-year-old rich actress expressed her happiness for the couple and even praised their bond.
Barrymore revealed that she and Bosworth “have a very important person in common,” alluding to the 44-year-old American actor, with whom she had an on-again-off-again relationship from 2007 to 2010.

The talk show host gushed, “My very dear old friend Justin Long — a boyfriend, a dear friend,” and went on to say, “He and Kate have found each other in this world and become this incredibly joyous, bonded, real deal; you know, holding hands, like the ultimate couple you root for. Period.”
Bosworth, the guest on the show, giggled in response and noted, “That’s so sweet. He loves you so much. He just loves you so deeply.”
During the interview, the 40-year-old actress also shared that she was with Long when he received Barrymore’s invitation to appear as a guest on the third season of her talk show.
Bosworth shared, “I was with him when he got the ask, and he’s like, ‘Oh, Drew wants me to go on her show,’ and I was like, ‘You have to do it!'”

The Blue Crush star continued, “I was so excited because I knew there’s so much love between the two of you. So much, yes, fun and like wild— I always say you guys were in the tornado together, right? It’s like the time in your life when you’re like, ‘I want to feel, and I want to do everything,’ just like be a part of the adventure in a wild way, which is so much fun. He just loves you so much.”
Last year, Barrymore and Long had an intimate interview on her show where they reminisced about their time together, with the host describing their relationship as “chaos” but also “hella fun” – or, as the actor put it, “fun chaos.”
The duo also acknowledged that they had been through a lot together and had grown as people since their relationship ended.

Long and Bosworth fueled rumors of their romance after they were first photographed together in Los Angeles in March 2022. The Wonderland actress and the Tusk actor were later seen strolling through New York City’s streets and vacationing in Hawaii, where they were caught kissing.
Last month, the couple announced their engagement on Long’s Life is Short podcast.

Bosworth described the proposal as “the most romantic, honest, and loving.”
Meanwhile, Long said, “It came out in a very organic way,” and “it felt connected to something very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through a real-life change.”
