It looks like H&M set a new trend. After the fast fashion retailer decided to try its hand at designing red carpet couture dresses, another store decided to give it a try: Banana Republic.
Dragonball Evolution actress Jamie Chung, who became a BR brand rep earlier the same year, was the first to take advantage of this design-your-own-dress trend under the Gap brand.

The dress, perhaps because of its success on the 2016 CFDA red carpet, will be available at Banana Republic stores by early August for $498.
7 years earlier, she played the role of high school student Chi-Chi, the daughter of Grandpa Gohan and the wife of Goku, in the 2009 American science fantasy superhero-martial arts film Dragonball Evolution.

Released in Japan and several other Asian countries on March 13, 2009, and in the United States on April 10, 2009, Jamie Chung was 26 years old at the time.
Jamie Chung was originally interested in the role of Bulma, but ultimately, she recognized that Emmy Rossum was the best fit for the character.

In true Jamie Chung fashion, the dress featured a sexy halter neck paired with a low cutout at the front.
The skirt was slashed in panels showing Jamie’s legs and the pink inner lining of the dress, which matched the halter collar.
Jamie accessorized with a few rings and a cuff and finished off the look with a pair of Kurt Geiger “Izzy” sandals.

Kurt Geiger seemingly took a cue from Dior’s acrylic block heels to create these fun sandals.

The shoes feature a printed toe strap and double ankle straps. If you’d like something a little flashier, Kurt Geiger also has a metallic reptile version of the same shoe available to purchase at Nordstrom and Zappos.
