Jessica Chastain’s June 10, 2017, wedding to Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo at his family’s historic Villa Tiepolo Passi in Treviso, Italy, was a fairytale filled with couture gowns and statement heels.

Hollywood friends arrived in Valentino and Rupert Sanderson, while Chastain’s own style journey—seen on earlier red carpets in unforgettable looks, such as her velvet Givenchy Matilda sandals—shows why she continues to be celebrated as a modern fashion icon both before and after her marriage.

Riccardo Tisci Bridal Gown: Jessica Chastain’s Timeless Wedding Style

Wearing a white strapless gown by Riccardo Tisci, Jessica Chastain accessorized with simple earrings and a classic long veil. The wedding was attended by Adam Shulman, Edgar Ramirez, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt.

Appearing on Live with Kelly and Ryan in December 2017, Jessica Chastain talked about getting married in Italy and how she met her count husband.

Chastain revealed that she and Gian Luca first met in Paris—a milestone day that also coincided with her very first Oscar nomination.

“It was the beginning of my career and the day I met my future husband,” she reflected. For their honeymoon, the couple chose an African safari, traveling through Johannesburg, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

Even before saying “I do,” Jessica and Gian Luca were already a fixture on the international red-carpet circuit, turning heads with her sophisticated gowns and statement heels.

Red Carpet as a Couple: Chastain & Passi de Preposulo’s Film Festival Fashion

A few years into their romance, Jessica Chastain and Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo—who first crossed paths at a Giorgio Armani fashion show in Paris in 2012 and stepped onto the red carpet together the following year—were a fixture at international film festivals, where Chastain consistently captivated with her glamorous yet contemporary style.

After making a glamorous appearance in Cushnie et Ochs and Christian Louboutin at the Ischia Global Festival, Chastain continued to experiment with bolder fashion statements on the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain is often celebrated for her signature “Old Hollywood” glamour, but she broke from that mold at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

Jessica leaned into a gothic-tinged glamour at TIFF 2015, slipping into a midnight-blue velvet Givenchy Fall 2015 gown paired with matching Matilda sandals.

Designed under Riccardo Tisci’s creative direction, the Matilda quickly became a red-carpet favorite thanks to its sleek ankle-strap silhouette, towering 4.5-inch stiletto heel, and luxurious fabrications ranging from smooth leather to lizard-effect finishes.

A subtle gold-toned heel detail and buckle fastening added modern polish to the otherwise timeless design, crafted in Italy with couture precision.

Chastain’s version in velvet was both dramatic and refined, amplified by her deep berry lips, side-swept hair, and burgundy manicure.

We’ve seen “Matilda” in black on several celebrities, including Cate Blanchett, Irina Shayk, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian. We love that Jessica matched the sandals to her dress.
