When The Book of Love (originally titled The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea) premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, it arrived with high expectations and a star-studded cast.

However, the film’s exploration of grief struggled to resonate with critics, whereas the red carpet told a much more successful story.

For fans of Maisie Williams, the premiere served as a definitive style milestone, showcasing her transition from Game of Thrones warrior to a sophisticated fashion fixture.

While the movie may have missed the mark as a “whimsical and touching” masterpiece, the footwear choices on display at the John Zuccotti Theater remain a masterclass in balancing youthful energy with high-end luxury.

Maisie Williams’ Nicholas Kirkwood “Outliner” sandals are no longer available. The British designer officially closed his namesake brand in early 2023 after nearly two decades in the industry, announcing the decision with a “goodbye for now” message on Instagram.

Since the label is no longer producing new collections, Kirkwood’s sculptural heels and signature styles are now primarily found through resale platforms and remaining retailer stock from past seasons. The designer has since shifted his focus toward developing more sustainable, technology-driven approaches to footwear manufacturing.
