Nobody does method dressing quite like Margot Robbie, and this look felt like a perfect extension of the new character she’s stepping into.

While attending the London premiere of the romantic drama Wuthering Heights, Robbie wore a striking gown by Dilara Findikoglu that reflected the story’s raw, romantic, and slightly unhinged emotion. Paired with custom Manolo Blahnik sandals, the look seemed more like a character study than a typical red-carpet outfit.

The film is loosely based on Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel of the same name. Robbie plays Catherine Earnshaw opposite Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. The story follows their intense, troubled relationship, in which love and obsession slowly become destructive.

Set against the bleak and isolated Yorkshire moors, the landscape plays an important role in the story, reflecting the characters’ strong emotions and their struggle to fit into society. Often seen as a classic dark Gothic romance, Wuthering Heights centers on tension, revenge, and passion, shown through dramatic period settings and striking costumes. It’s directed by Emerald Fennell and is set to hit theaters on February 13.

If Margot’s latest red carpet look is any indication, her upcoming fashion moments will be just as expressive as the film. I’m excited to see how she continues to connect her character to her style throughout the rest of the press tour!

Rain-Kissed Elegance: Custom Manolo Blahnik Sandals

Margot Robbie slipped into a custom pair of understated yet elegant Manolo Blahnik heels. The sandals came in a light beige shade with a soft, glossy finish, giving them a smooth, polished look.

They featured slim straps across the toes and around the ankles, keeping the design clean and minimal. The open-toe front and delicate stiletto heels added height without detracting from the rest of her look.

What made this moment stand out to me was how real it felt. It was a rainy evening at the movie premiere, and you could clearly see the weather’s effect on her shoes.

There were visible wet marks along the toe straps and slight discoloration near the heels, subtle signs of the rain soaking in. But instead of ruining the moment, those imperfections added something extra. The rain-soaked details were fitting, echoing the mood of Wuthering Heights.

Gothic Glamour: Margot’s Sheer Dilara Findikoglu Corset Gown

Margot’s outfit, of course, was the center of the look. And that, too, didn’t escape the rainy weather, with raindrops visible on the dramatic sheer train.

Dilara Findikoglu designed Margot’s custom gown, and her signature style was evident throughout, matching the film’s mood. Known for her darker, more raw take on femininity, the Turkish designer often draws inspiration from history and gothic romance rather than refined, polished aesthetics.

Margot’s dress showcased Findikoglu’s signature codes, such as corsetry, sheer fabrics, and details with a medieval, mythical vibe. It featured a sheer nude base with an ornate corseted bodice that highlighted her enviably slender figure, complete with corset lace-up detailing running down the back. It also had layers of lace ruffles that added coverage to her behind.

The gown also boasted green-gold braided trims that ran in symmetrical lines across the bodice and down the sheer skirt, finished with tiny rosettes that added texture and visual interest. The skirt then fell into a softly ruffled hem with a long, dramatic train, giving the gown fluid movement. It was finished with feather accents woven throughout, adding a touch of drama, and a braided choker trimmed with ruffles that tied the entire ensemble together.

The structure was visible, with the boning, straps, and details on full display. That balance between the exposure and structure seemed to mirror the emotional tension in Wuthering Heights, reflecting Catherine Earnshaw’s struggle between elegance and wildness.

Even the feathered accents and earthy colors felt like a quiet nod to the moors, adding to the sense of nature and emotional unrest that runs through the story.

Brontë Tributes: Archive Jewels and a Mourning Bracelet

Margot’s dress was already full of detail, but she didn’t stop there. She styled the look with two vintage brooches from Boucheron’s archives, both dating back to the early 1900s.

Their bold symbolism fits perfectly with the romantic, gothic mood of Wuthering Heights. One brooch, created in 1900, featured a cushion-cut red garnet framed by Valkyrie heads, while the second, from 1920, had an Assyrian lion, an animal associated with kingship and power in ancient Mesopotamian culture.

Robbie accessorized with additional statement jewelry by Jessica McCormack. She wore bespoke garnet, pearl, and diamond earrings, a ruby and diamond Chubby Daisy ring, and an East-West ruby button-back ring centered around a 3.06-carat cushion-cut ruby in a Georgian-style cut-down setting with blackened white gold and yellow gold.

Margot’s most meaningful accessory was a replica of Charlotte Brontë’s Victorian mourning bracelet, finished with a dangling amethyst set in gold.

It felt like a clear tribute to the Brontë family. Charlotte Brontë was the sister of Emily Brontë, the author of Wuthering Heights, which was first published under the pen name Ellis Bell. Charlotte owned the original bracelet, which contained hair from her sisters Emily and Anne.

Finishing her ethereal look, Margot styled her hair in a chic bun, with a few soft curls left loose to frame her face. She kept her makeup minimal, allowing her natural features to shine, while keeping the focus on her dress.

The actress wore soft pink eyeshadow, matching blush, and lipstick, complementing the romantic tone of her ensemble.
