Harry and Meghan are back!!! It is their first public international trip together since they stepped down as senior working royals and moved to California in March 2020.

En route to the Netherlands, the couple made a short stop in the UK to visit Queen Elizabeth and also met with Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, in what some are calling a “peace summit” after all the controversy over the past 2 years.

The Invictus Games were founded by Prince Harry in 2014 and it is a cause that has remained close to his heart ever since.

Back in 2017, the games were held in Toronto, and it was there that Harry and Meghan made their relationship known to the public for the very first time

In 2018, the games were held in Australia and the couple took a day out of their royal tour to show their support for the games.

The Duke and Duchess will also be showcasing the lead-up to the 2022 Games in their first Netflix project called Heart of Invictus.

Since the couple stepped down, we haven’t seen as much of them as we would have liked. So, for all royal fans, this has been a rare treat.

We love Megan’s natural confidence and where previously she would have chosen dresses, skirts, and suits with a more tailored look, it’s fabulous to see her pre-royal style is back on track.

All-In-One Valentino

On the 15th of April, Harry and Meghan attended a reception honoring the Ukrainian and American teams.

Harry wore a black suit and an open-collared white shirt. But enough about Harry, it’s Meghan’s outfit we are really interested in.

Meghan wore an all-white Valentino suit, consisting of a double-breasted blazer and matching tailored pants. She paired her suit with white Aquazzura heels and a white and gold Valentino leather shoulder bag.

When it came to jewelry, she accessorized with a gold Sophie Lis love pendant necklace, Cartier earrings which she wore for her wedding, and a Cartier Tank watch.

The Duchess wore her hair down in those signature waves and kept her makeup natural.

Her outfit was originally going to have a Ralph Lauren camel-colored coat over it, but she lent the coat to Bertine Schuurhuis, the wife of one of the Dutch team competitors, to keep her baby warm.

Stylishly Casual in Celine

On the first day of the games, the couple attended the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge at Zuiderpark.

Harry wore a black Invictus Games polo shirt with navy jeans and Meghan looked stylishly casual in a Celine black tweed jacket with gold buttons.

She wore the jacket over a white t-shirt and a pair of turned-up light blue jeans by Moussy.

She completed her look with black-and-tan Chanel ballet flats, a black Celine “Triomphe” shoulder bag, and a pair of Linda Farrow gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses.

Her hair was worn back in a ponytail, and she kept her jewelry to a minimum, wearing an understated gold bangle and stud earrings.

Sleek Sophistication at the Opening Ceremony

That evening the Sussexes attended the Opening Ceremony arriving hand-in-hand and full of smiles as they walked the yellow carpet.

Meghan was the epitome of sophistication in a cream Khaite bodysuit featuring an off-the-shoulder design with draped detail that twisted in the front.

She paired this flattering bodysuit with high-waisted navy trousers and a pair of mesh pointed Campari pumps with satin trims by Manolo Blahnik.

Meghan chose to accessorize with a statement piece yellow-gold Cartier “Juste Un Clou” necklace, stud Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and diamond bracelets. The Duchess wore her hair parted in the middle and swept back into a low bun.

And as we said, her pre-royal style is back on track, no conservative royal dresses for our Meghan. She looked absolutely stunning as she took to the stage to introduce her husband.

The Duchess thanked all the servicemen and women who were participating that year and paid special notice to the Ukrainian team, saying, “Slava Ukrani! (Glory to Ukraine!)” before introducing and welcoming Harry to the stage.

Much to the delight of everyone in the stadium and to fans all around the world, Harry thanked Meghan with a kiss! We love these unexpected moments of affection we don’t normally see when it comes to the royals.

Harry also paid tribute to the Ukrainian team, saying, “Your bravery in choosing to come, and in being here tonight, cannot be overstated.”

Harry went on to speak about their son Archie and what he wants to be when he grows up, ending off by saying, “But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most. And nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us: YOU.”

Easter in Valentino

The couple celebrated Easter together at the Invictus Games. And for day 2 Meghan chose a pair of dark jeans which she dressed up with a cream belted jacket by Brandon Maxwell and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps.

She wore her hair loose and accessorized with the Sophie Lis love pendant necklace and her Cartier watch.

Her final outfit choice was a Valentino cream long-sleeved, knee-high dress with floral cut-out patterns around the chest and shoulders which she paired with brown heels. Her hair was worn to the side and surprisingly she chose a red lipstick.

According to royal experts, the Duchess has only ever worn red lipstick twice during her time as a working royal.

Elizabeth Holmes, the author of HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style, said in a recent Glamour article, “The whole Invictus Games, I will say, were very Diana-inspired. Some were very obvious – the Khaite bodysuit that she wore at the opening ceremony was such a specific visual parallel to Diana’s Mario Testino shoot in 1997.”

Are you wondering what else may have been Diana-inspired? According to Elizabeth Holmes, those tan and black Chanel shoes – Diana wore the same ones, but the heeled version. And the Cartier Tank watch was a gift from Harry and that had been a gift from Diana.

We have loved having Harry and Meghan back in the limelight and have enjoyed each and every outfit and we can’t wait to see what Meghan will be wearing next.
