Meghan Trainor’s red-carpet style in this piece moves across three different fashion moments: an ivory Badgley Mischka Couture gown with height-boosting pointed-toe heels in 2019, a sparkling Michael Costello gown with metallic Giuseppe Zanotti platforms at the 2016 Grammys, and a Balmain mini dress with gold Saint Laurent pumps at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.

Together, the looks show how Trainor uses shoes to shift the tone of an outfit—elongating a formal gown, adding drama to a major awards-night silhouette, or making a short embellished dress feel even more leg-focused.

After appearing on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke in January 2020, Meghan Trainor shared the story of how she met her husband, actor Daryl Sabara.

The couple was introduced through Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham during a group bowling date, where Sabara eventually won Trainor over by singing Elton John’s “Your Song.”

Trainor later said she knew early on that Sabara was “the one,” especially after he joined her on tour and the two quickly became inseparable. They got engaged in December 2017 and married exactly one year later on Trainor’s 25th birthday.

Standing at 5-foot-4¼ (163.2 cm), Meghan Trainor nearly matched Daryl Sabara’s height on the red carpet thanks to her sleek pointed-toe heels and voluminous updo, a styling combination that subtly elongated her silhouette while complementing the clean lines of her ivory gown.

While Trainor’s 2019 premiere look leaned polished and romantic, her red-carpet style during her breakout 2016 awards season was noticeably bolder. Just a few years earlier, she embraced dramatic sparkle and towering metallic platforms at the Grammy Awards.

Meghan’s work has been recognized with several awards and nominations. In February 2016, she received the prestigious Best New Artist award at the 58th Grammy Awards.

The singer/songwriter was in tears as soon as her name was called. She took to the stage to pick up her trophy and got emotional as she delivered her speech, thanking Epic Records’ L.A. Reid, her manager Troy Carter of Atom Factory, choreographer Charm La’Donna, and, of course, her parents.

Meghan looked like a real winner as she dazzled in a sparkling black gown by her go-to designer, Michael Costello.

The flattering ‘80s-style gown featured shoulder pads, long sleeves, a cleavage-baring V-neckline, and a split that showed just enough leg to offer a sexy, feminine edge.
