It has been a busy week for Mel B, promoting the expanded version of her memoir Brutally Honest in New York City. And considering the tone of the book, I think it makes perfect sense that she’s going about it while making a fierce fashion statement.

Channeling her inner Scary Spice, Mel B has been making the rounds on the media circuit in animal-print outfits. I’m not exactly a fan of her recent looks; they’re a bit too much, in my opinion. But I admire Mel B’s confidence in sporting leopard print, as it takes courage.

Mel B in a Leopard Coat and Philipp Plein Denim Lace-Up Boots

Arriving at the Today studio to discuss her expanded memoir Brutally Honest, Melanie Brown was hard to ignore in a leopard-print coat worn over a navy-blue sweater dress, red leggings, and light-washed denim thigh-high lace-up boots.

While I find each element of her ensemble appealing, I don’t think the pieces work well together. There’s too much going on and too many elements vying for attention.

Mel B’s leopard-printed coat alone is already a scene stealer. It’s a statement piece that can give any ensemble a daring, exotic vibe.

Her Philipp Plein “Kobra” boots, currently on sale for $574 (from $1,915) at Philipp Plein Outlet, are another noteworthy feature of her ensemble. They have lace-up fastenings and embroidered whimsical patches that stand out sharply against her bold outerwear.

The upper is constructed from stone-washed denim of 70% cotton, 19.5% viscose, and 10.5% polyester, while the sole is crafted from cow leather, cuoio leather, and sheep leather filling. Peep toes, 5.5-inch stiletto heels, and a crystal-encrusted skull on the sole complete this exquisite boot design.

Moreover, Mel B paired the boots with red cheetah-printed tights, which I think were unnecessary as they did the outfit more harm than good.

As she entered the studio, Mel B removed her coat and showed off a navy-blue sweater mini-dress, highlighting her toned physique. It was basic, with a mock neck, long sleeves, and a thigh-skimming hem, pairing perfectly with her statement boots.

I would have preferred the look more if she hadn’t worn the red tights and leopard coat. Her thigh-high boots and simple blue dress are already stylish enough to create a perfectly balanced look.

Mel B kept her daytime essentials in a monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag, adding more prints to her already busy outfit.

I’m glad she didn’t go overboard with jewelry, though. She accessorized with just a pair of large, thin hoop earrings and a few gold rings.

She then shielded her eyes behind oversized black sunglasses, wore red lipstick, and pulled her voluminous curly tresses back into a ponytail.

Mel B’s Head-to-Toe Leopard-Print Look

Later, Mel B showed up on The View sporting an entirely new outfit but continued to embrace the leopard print trend.

This time, she opted for a more toned-down ensemble, matching her midi-length leopard coat with leopard pumps. This, for me, is more aesthetically pleasing than her first look.

Her double-breasted coat featured wide, notched lapels, belted cuffs, and a waist tie to create a slimmer appearance.

Mel B showcased her incredible figure inside the studio, taking off her striking coat to reveal a figure-fitting green shift dress with a knee-length hem and interesting cutouts on the short sleeves.

She kept the look chic by pairing the plain-colored dress with leopard-print pumps from Christian Louboutin and carrying the same Louis Vuitton bag from earlier. Since I prefer to wear one bold item at a time, I have to say I adore this combo.

While keeping her voluminous ponytail, Mel B glammed up with mauve lipstick and switched her plain black sunnies for a pair in tortoiseshell. She wore the same rings but traded her gold hoops for long geometric gold earrings.

Mel B in a Busty Leopard-Print Jumpsuit

On Tuesday, the 48-year-old singer put on a busty display in a daring jumpsuit covered in—you guessed it—leopard print.

Continuing her penchant for the wild animal pattern, the Spice Girls member couldn’t be missed in a fitted leopard-print jumpsuit highlighting every inch of her hourglass figure as she headed to The Drew Barrymore Show studios.

It had a halter neck, a gold-tone leopard head accent on the ruched cups, a form-fitting bodice, and fitted stirrup pants.

I like how Mel B opted for a seamless look, finishing her leopard ensemble with matching leopard pointed-toe pumps.

She wore a Philipp Plein pair made in Italy from leopard-print patent leather. They have sharply pointed toes and about 4.7-inch metal heels accented with the luxury Swiss label’s iconic skull embellishment.

If you want to elevate your outfit with some exotic flair, these pumps are on sale at Farfetch for $685 (from $1,705).

Embracing maximalism, Mel B further accessorized her striking ‘fit with large hoop earrings and several statement rings.

Outside the studio, she layered her ensemble underneath a black fur coat.

Concealing her eyes behind a pair of oversized square-framed sunnies, Mel B glammed up for the show with mauve lipstick and pulled her curly hair back into a neat ponytail with curly bangs framing her face.

Mel B in a Sensational Black Sheer Jumpsuit and Leopard-Print OTK Boots

On Wednesday, Mel B visited Sherri Shepherd’s talk show clad in a more subdued ensemble. However, she continued the motif of her press tour by donning a pair of leopard-print over-the-knee boots.

Her off-the-shoulder jumpsuit was fitted at the bodice, had sheer striped long sleeves, and diagonally striped legs with a flared hem. I thought the combo was odd, but Mel B did it so effortlessly that it worked.

Her boots, visible through the sheer striped legs, had pointed toes, long shafts that extended over her knees, and skinny stiletto heels.

Mel B’s Expanded Brutally Honest Memoir Talks About Domestic Abuse

Mel B published her Sunday Times best-selling debut memoir, Brutally Honest, in 2018. Now, she’s re-releasing an expanded version of the book with three new chapters in which she shares more personal details about her life, including her upbringing, her ascent to stardom, and her struggle with domestic abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte.

Mel B told People, “I think it’s so important to honestly say what happens when you leave abuse, because it’s not as easy as some people may think.”

“For example, my mother would say, ‘What’s wrong with you? You’re fine now. You’ve left him.’ And I’d be going, ‘Yeah, but now I’ve got to pick up the pieces, and I’ve got to deal with the shame and the guilt, and I want to protect my kids.’ And I don’t want to block out what happened because I did that for a little bit, and you get PTSD.”

“Trauma from abuse never goes. So you need to be able to recognize it, be kind to yourself and just quiet that voice, which you can do,” she added. “You have to just basically say to yourself, ‘It’s not your fault and he was the problem, not you.’ And you just have to heal yourself. And that’s going to be a lifetime, a long journey for me.”
