Riley Keough made a stunning entrance at the Los Angeles premiere of Amazon Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six.

This marked her first official public appearance since her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s passing in January of this year.

The 33-year-old star stepped out in a head-turning dress from Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection.

It featured a black velvet bustier with a plunging, V-shaped neckline. Her skirt looked like it was embellished with sequins, but it was actually decorated with glass fringe and black bugle beads.

Keough brought some drama to her look with black velvet gloves and some sparkle with stunning green glass earrings.

The rest of the styling was kept simple to draw attention to her dress and gorgeous statement earrings. Her beauty look consisted of dusty rose lips and a touch of blush for a pop of color. Center-parted hair and black pointy-toe pumps completed her premiere look.

Keough kept close to her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, who joined her at the premiere in a monochromatic suit with black leather boots.

Smith-Petersen showed his support to his wife during one of the most difficult times of her life by delivering a eulogy on her behalf during the memorial service for Keough’s mother at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee.

He read Riley’s letter to her mom Lisa Marie Presley, who sadly passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on January 12 of this year:

“Thank you for showing me love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters.”

This was part of Riley Keough’s letter, which also alluded to the fact that the couple recently welcomed their first child. According to Page Six, a rep for the actress confirmed the news but didn’t give any additional details.

The letter continued, “Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart.”

These past few years have been difficult for Keough and her family, who also mourned the tragic loss of her brother Benjamin in July 2020 due to suicide.

But on a lighter note, Riley Keough is keeping the rock ‘n’ roll legacy of her late mother and legendary grandfather Elvis Presley alive.

Her latest project, Daisy Jones & The Six, sees her embodying the role of a fiery musical goddess in the 1970s. Based on the best-selling 2019 novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six delves into the world of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.

Loosely inspired by the iconic Stevie Nicks and her experiences in the band Fleetwood Mac, the newest Amazon Prime Video series is filmed in the style of a docudrama that chronicles the meteoric rise and fall to obscurity of a fictional rock band in the 1970s.

It stars Riley Keough as Daisy Jones and British actor Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne. Rounding out the band are Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Sebastian Chacon, and Josh Whitehouse.

Executive producer Reese Witherspoon spoke to Vanity Fair about how Daisy Jones & The Six “reads like a VH1 Behind the Music documentary” and that it “feels so real, and so particular in a time and place.”

“Anything was possible in that time – the connection between artists was totally different,” Witherspoon continued. “It’s really beautiful. And the music is bananas! The music really drives the story, and the chemistry between Riley and Sam is just the best.”

Reese Witherspoon has had several projects, from bringing A-list actors together for the critically-acclaimed series Big Little Lies to starting a book club, spearheading the Time’s Up advocacy, reuniting with Jennifer Aniston to star and executive produce The Morning Show, and recently reviving romantic comedies.

Now, she has set her sights on The New York Times bestseller by Taylor Jenkins Reid and turned it into “a wild musical drama” that showcases the brilliance of established and up-and-coming stars.

The cast had to undergo a months-long band camp to learn the original music created specifically for the show and rehearse as a group together.

But the most surprising thing was that both of the lead stars did not have much musical training prior to the show. Sam Claflin had to practice playing the guitar “until his fingers bled” and learn how to sing and move like a true rock star.

Meanwhile, Riley Keough, who has an impressive rock ‘n’ roll pedigree, never had any musical experience beyond “singing in the shower.”

“I don’t consider myself a singer,” Keough told Vanity Fair. “Everyone keeps on asking me if I was born to play this role because of my family, and honestly, I was born to play every role that I’ve played so far. I took this role because I’ve been wanting to sing, since I had never sung before. I worked really hard and put in a lot of hours for a year and a half. It wasn’t an overnight kind of thing.”

Keough also shared that her mom, Lisa Marie Presley, was so proud and excited that she had taken on the role. “I was worried, and she really supported me.” She also said that it was her mom, who “helped [her] focus and believe in [herself].”

Reese Witherspoon couldn’t help but rave about Riley Keough’s performance in Daisy Jones & The Six. “She’s very quiet and soft-spoken in real life, and she really transformed herself and brought such rock star energy.”

Witherspoon also said Keough “utterly transforms when she gets on the stage.” For her, watching Riley Keough was “like watching a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis.”
