“I like being a little more cheap when it comes to my clothes,” Selena shared with InStyle in an interview.

“But when it comes to shoes or bags, that’s definitely where I splurge. I love buying a really pretty bag or a nice pair of shoes, and the rest of my outfit will cost, like $20. I’m that girl for sure. I’m a sucker for shoes and handbags!”

In May 2013, Selena Gomez was a vision of style at London’s Heathrow Airport. A few days earlier, she wore a sporty ensemble with a beanie and a pair of slouchy pajama pants.

Arriving in London, however, she traded her pajama pants for a sleek pair of printed leggings.

If there’s anything I can say about Selena, she knows how to dress up for an occasion. Whether for a red-carpet event or a simple walk in the park, she carefully considers what she will wear and pulls it off.

The long flight to London shouldn’t be taken lightly, so she opted for comfort. But even with that in mind, she managed to inject serious style into her outfit through a pair of printed leggings. It broke off the monotony of her all-black ensemble.

She assembled black pieces — a black top and a black asymmetric blazer. Printed leggings are a little tricky to wear, but she made it look effortless by pairing them with a long blazer. It created a tasteful silhouette. Something oversized or long for a top would work best for leggings.

Unless you’re playing on prints, follow Selena’s lead and opt for solid-colored accents. Her black leather Chanel CC loafers, retro Ray-Ban sunnies, and white Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily handbag were enough accessories to make her look chic.
