When the original trio from Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece Jurassic Park reunited for the franchise’s 2022 conclusion, it wasn’t just a cinematic milestone—it was a high-fashion homecoming.
Years after first escaping Isla Nublar, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum returned to the screen in Jurassic World Dominion, bringing a sense of legacy back to the blockbuster series.
During the film’s global press tour in June 2022, Laura Dern—reprising her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler—traded her character’s practical khakis for a series of bold, experimental red-carpet looks. From the streets of London to the bright lights of Los Angeles, her footwear and wardrobe choices proved that paleontological icons never go out of style.
Laura Dern Turns Heads in Prada Metallic Mary Jane Pumps at the LA Premiere

Speaking to Digital Spy about her return to the movie, Laura revealed that discussions about her Jurassic Park comeback began when she was filming The Last Jedi in 2017.
“They had been speaking about it for some time. What would it look like? What do you think she would do for a living now? All those questions had started.”

“I was making a Star Wars movie at Pinewood [and producer] Frank Marshall asked me to come for a visit, so that was my first re-entry back to a set with a raptor and his friends. We started having more and more conversation around it, and it seemed really exciting to me.”
She recalled, “We sent a picture to Steven Spielberg the day the three of us were back together for the first time. We all were teary, it was very sweet and so fun.”

The then-55-year-old actress attended the LA premiere of Jurassic World Dominion, and she turned up in a two-piece color-blocked ensemble from Prada.
Laura, who’s always been experimental with her red-carpet fashion choices, opted for a satin look, pairing a luminous blue long-sleeved turtleneck top with a red knee-length A-line skirt and a logo-detailed black leather belt.

Adding more color to her already bold look, the Oscar winner carried a small pink purse and slipped her big feet into a pair of metallic Mary Jane pumps, also from the Italian luxury fashion house.
They have a pointed-toe silhouette, the label’s triangular logo, and 3-inch heels.

She then accessorized the fun, retro look with Pomellato jewelry, including a pair of long drop earrings and a statement ring, selected by her stylist, Julia von Boehm.
Allowing her outfit to take center stage, Laura pulled her hair back into a messy, wavy ponytail and wore minimal makeup, including red lipstick, to complement it.

Laura Dern Elevates Zebra-Print Stella McCartney Suit With Red Jimmy Choo Love Pumps
Later that month, the Marriage Story star visited Live with Kelly and Ryan to promote Jurassic World Dominion.
For her appearance on the show, Laura decided to show off her wild side in a zebra-print pantsuit from British designer Stella McCartney’s Resort 2023 collection.
She paired a tailored, collarless blazer that features a front snap fastening with matching relaxed straight-leg pants. Underneath, she wore a $108 Commando “Butter” black short-sleeved crewneck bodysuit.

Giving the zebra look a pop of color, Laura finished off her ensemble with Jimmy Choo Love pumps in red patent leather.
She styled the bold look with a dainty gold necklace and a pair of $1,250 Turner & Tatler sapphire-and-diamond drop earrings, finished with a $961 Sambar clutch in black velvet and a pair of dark sunnies.
