Speculation arose among fans, suggesting that Tiffany Chen, De Niro’s partner whom he met on the set of The Intern in 2015, is the infant’s mother. The actor has now come forward to confirm most of the details surrounding the birth.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, De Niro introduced his youngest daughter, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, who was born on April 6.
The name pays tribute to De Niro’s mother, Virginia Admiral De Niro. Although the actor was not present for the introduction, he shared an endearing photograph of the adorable addition to their family—a baby girl with a full head of hair at just over a month old—with the morning show.

Host Gayle King, who had interviewed De Niro about his upcoming film, About My Father, two days before the news breaking, reached out to him again, questioning why he had chosen to keep the information hidden.
De Niro explained that he had considered revealing the news during the initial interview but had chosen not to divert attention from the focus on the film. The revelation occurred when the reporter mistakenly stated that he had six children, prompting De Niro to correct her, ensuring the baby was not denied or overlooked.
King then requested the opportunity to disclose the baby’s name and gender, which De Niro agreed to. She humorously referred to it on camera as a “bonafide exclusive” before revealing, “I present to you the national TV debut of Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro.” De Niro confirmed that the baby was planned and expressed his excitement, emphasizing that she was a product of love.
De Niro’s family has expanded to include seven children, ages from 51 years old to just one month.
From his first marriage to Diahnne Abbott, the actor has a daughter named Drena, who is now 51, and a son named Raphael, who is 46. With his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith, De Niro shares twins Julian and Aaron, who are currently 27 years old. Additionally, he has two children, a son named Elliot, aged 24, and a daughter named Helen, aged 11, with Grace Hightower.
