In a night filled with firsts, Dua Lipa graced the Golden Globes red carpet for the first time, not just as a presenter but also as a nominee, and she marked the occasion with a memorable debut at the prestigious awards show.

Upon arriving at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the 28-year-old award-winning singer-songwriter stepped onto the red carpet in a show-stopping creation from the renowned Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry.

The strapless, black velvet gown hugged her figure before gracefully flaring into a mermaid silhouette, reminiscent of her role in the 2023 blockbuster Barbie film.

Her custom-made bustier dress featured a lace-up back and a touch of signature Schiaparelli surrealism. An embroidered gilded bone design adorned the gown, crafted with diamonds and gold, beautifully complementing her archival accessories.

Underneath the flowing hem of her full-length ensemble, Lipa polished off her appearance with a pair of matching black shoes from Jimmy Choo.

Styled by Lorenzo Posocco, the FNAA Collection of the Year Awardee reached into the Tiffany & Co. vault for accessories, choosing a wreath-like archival necklace from 1962.

The necklace, inlaid with yellow beryl, topaz quartz, and round-cut diamonds set in gold and platinum, showcased two large briolette-cut stones hanging off the end.

She also adorned a ring from Tiffany’s, featuring a large, unenhanced yellow sapphire surrounded by a halo of diamonds.

Lipa paid attention to every detail of her look, carrying a Schiaparelli velvet keyhole minaudière clutch that matched her attire.

Keeping her hair and makeup somewhat minimalistic, she exuded a bronzed, fresh-faced glow. Her fiery red hair, styled in waves, stood out against the jet black of her dress, creating a stunning visual contrast.

Dance The Night’s Golden Globe Nomination

The significance of the evening extended beyond Dua Lipa’s fashion choices, as her summer anthem “Dance The Night” from Barbie earned her (and her collaborators) a coveted nomination for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture.

Among the trio of nominated songs from the award-winning film, she competed with Billie Eilish’sWhat Was I Made For” and Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken.”

Lipa also contended against formidable tracks like Bruce Springsteen’s “Addicted to Romance” from She Came To Me, Lenny Kravitz’s “Road to Freedom” from Rustin, and Jack Black’s “Peaches” from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Upon announcing this year’s nominations, Dua Lipa took to Instagram with a post brimming with exclamation points.

The celebratory post not only featured a still from the film showcasing her role as a pink-haired mermaid but also provided a glimpse behind the scenes of the movie’s production, complete with a cameo appearance from her co-star John Cena.
