The two called it quits this month after eight months of dating, which started in September, and rumor has it that the NYC chef is already back on different dating apps.
On Friday, the 42-year-old actress enjoyed some retail therapy in New York City. She sashayed through Lafayette Street carrying shopping bags from Ralph Lauren, Santa Maria Novella, and Sephora.

Tom Cruise’s ex-wife further accessorized with layers of long gold necklaces and a gold bracelet. She kept her essentials in a Givenchy 4G bag, which you can get for $1,890 at Nordstrom.

For her shopping spree, Katie slipped into her favorite go-to shoes—the Gucci “Jordaan” loafers. She was spotted a few times wearing this pair while on a romantic stroll with Emilio and during lunch with Emilio’s dad.

Why Did Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. Split?
In April, it was reported that Katie and Emilio had slowed things down but not ended their relationship yet.
According to a Page Six source, “Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life—she’s a single mom, her daughter always comes first, and things were moving very fast.”
Emilio was also noticeably absent during Katie’s daughter Suri’s 15th birthday last month.
Just recently, an insider from US Weekly confirmed Katie and Emilio’s breakup, saying “the pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends.”
“Their relationship fizzled. They figured out they’re better off as friends. There’s no drama that went down with the breakup and in fact, they’re still friends,” the source added.
“Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together. It just simply didn’t work out. She’s focusing on being a mom and her upcoming projects.”
The Dawson’s Creek star had been busy filming for her untitled romance movie in Connecticut, while Emilio’s pre-occupied with his family’s restaurant business in New York City.
It has been said that their “different schedules and different commitments” didn’t match.
“He works in New York in the restaurant business and she’s obviously a busy actress who just was away for some time filming,” said the insider.
