In 2022, the theme “Gilded Glamour” called back to the opulence of late 19th-century New York—an era marked by extravagant wealth, corseted silhouettes, and lavish fabrics. Attendees were expected to interpret this historic dress code with modern flair, channeling the grandeur of the Gilded Age through jewel tones, satin, feathers, and intricate embellishments.

The period saw a surge in industrialization, followed by wealth and prosperity. We expected some real Gilded Age fashion, from jewel tones and feathers to corsets and satin.

Of course, some of our celebrities served, while others didn’t seem to hit the nail on the head, but all looked phenomenal.

Famous mom Kris Jenner wore a look that left some in awe and some underwhelmed. The leader of the Kardashian-Jenners donned a silk pale yellow Oscar de la Renta dress with an asymmetrical shoulder line, complete with long white gloves—a fashion staple of the elegant.

Before the Met Gala’s gilded glamour, Kris Jenner had already established herself as a fashion risk-taker, especially during Paris Fashion Week, when she flaunted bold fur looks and standout footwear.

In March 2016, Kris Jenner brought her signature glamour to Paris Fashion Week, favoring statement fur coats as she supported daughter Kendall on the runway. The 60-year-old momager turned heads at every show with her luxe, layered looks, proving once again that she knows how to steal the spotlight in style.

Fur & Gold: Balmain Show Look with Nude Portofino Heels

On her way to the Balmain show to watch Kendall strut her stuff, Kris stepped away from her signature modest black style to wear a rather sexy gold and brown ensemble.

Perhaps inspired by her daughter Kim’s fashion choices, Kris opted for a gold mini dress that hugged her figure and showed off her legs and cleavage.

Proving age is just a number, this mama looked confident as she hid under a large brown fur coat from the Parisian chill.

Despite the minimal coverage of her dress, this oversized coat seemed to keep her warm enough. Her sparkling long-sleeve embellished dress is from Balmain, and it features a plunging neckline, stretch fabric, and the label’s signature padded shoulders.

She styled the daring display further by hiding her eyes behind a pair of mirrored aviators, wearing neutral-toned makeup and dark eyeliner.

The momager chose a nude pair of Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals for her feet. These classic shoes feature calf leather, high ankle straps with circular buckles, toe straps, and approximately 4-inch heels that subtly elongated Kris Jenner’s 5ft 5 ½ inches (166.4 cm) frame. The next day, Kris was back to black for the Dior show, mirroring the fashions that dominated the French fashion house’s runway.

Kris received some inside style tips from Kendall, who wore a similar-looking long black coat with a fur collar while on the catwalk.

Brimming with pride, the supportive mom looked chic in a tight black dress covered by a calf-length, fur-collared coat and thigh-high boots.

Adding a touch of Dior flair, Kris sported bold sunnies and a silver clutch from the luxury clothing brand. Her tall black suede boots completed her sleek ensemble.

Chanel Chic: Fur Hand Muff & Combat Boots

Continuing her fur frenzy but altering the pace, Kris stepped out in a black wool pea coat and a fur-lined hand warmer for the Chanel show.

Draped around her neck, the gold-chained white and black furry hand muff was glaringly Chanel’s, as indicated by the bold brand name emblazoned across the front.

The rest of her ensemble was kept more subtle with a biker chick edge. She chose plain black sunglasses for the look and wore a sleek pair of black leggings tucked into some classic combat boots.

Oversized Fur Glamour for Louis Vuitton

For the Louis Vuitton show, Kris turned to a fur coat that could have easily come from Kim’s collection. Oversized to the point of looking like a giant blanket, this gray-and-brown tinged coat certainly kept Kris warm.
