The 2024 Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, was a grand celebration honoring the year’s top artists, albums, and songs.

Comedian Trevor Noah hosted the 66th annual ceremony, showcasing stellar performances from a lineup that included Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, and many talented musicians.

Miley Cyrus, one artist who always grabs attention, appeared on the red carpet in her signature bold style. Known for her daring fashion choices, she certainly didn’t disappoint this time.

I have to say, the 31-year-old American singer-songwriter’s outfit might have been a bit much (or maybe not enough, depending on how you look at it) for such a formal event. But hey, Miley always surprises us, and somehow, she made it work perfectly for her.

An Iconic Ensemble by John Galliano for Maison Margiela

Opting for a bold departure from the conventional gown, she stunned everyone in a captivating custom-made dress by creative director John Galliano for Maison Margiela.

Miley rocked a daring micro-mini ensemble without visible undergarments, creating a sheer overlay effect that left little to the imagination. And let me tell you, she owned the look!

The Detailing: A Fusion of Art and Fashion

The dress, adorned with thousands of gold safety pins, gave off a vibe inspired by old Hollywood glamour, drawing from John Galliano’s iconic Fall-Winter 1996 collection.

Her stunning golden attire featured an imitation netted textile and an intricate halter neckline resembling a structured collar and sculptural safety-pin detailing at the bust reminiscent of molded cups.

I am particularly enamored by the ensemble’s mesh design on the torso, accentuating her toned figure, complemented by a metal waist sculpture, skeleton hands embellished on the arms, and a sheer skirt with slits highlighting her toned legs.

Styled by celebrity stylist Bradley Kenneth, a trusted member of Miley Cyrus’ team for over a decade, I admire her decision to forego jewels, allowing the dress to shine as the star on the red carpet.

Footwear That Makes a Statement

Yet, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker added a twist to the ensemble with a pair of controversial aged-yellow velour and gold faux lizard Tabi interlaced ankle-strap pumps crafted by Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela.

These shoes were a highlight of the Artisanal 2024 Maison Margiela collection, a unique collaboration between Christian Louboutin and John Galliano, unveiled during Paris Haute Couture Week on January 25.

A Nod to Her Roots: Miley’s Glam and Hair Tribute

However, the standout elements of her ensemble weren’t solely confined to her unique statement dress and controversial shoes.

Miley also stunned with her glam, seemingly paying homage to her godmother, Dolly Parton, by showcasing her dirty blonde tresses adorned with an array of highlights, worn open and styled in a dramatically voluminous, curly updo, a subtle nod to her country roots.

Liam Hemsworth’s ex-wife opted for a simple makeup look, featuring winged eyeliner, shimmery gold eyeshadow, feathered brows, heavy mascara on the lashes, a glossy nude lip shade, a touch of rouge on the cheekbones, a beaming highlighter, and bronzer to accentuate her cheekbones.

Miley Cyrus’ Grammy Triumphs: Nominations and Wins

Miley Cyrus received six nominations for the occasion. Her chart-topping single “Flowers” was recognized with nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, securing her a nod for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Her album “Endless Summer Vacation” garnered nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Her collaboration with Brandi Carlile on “Thousand Miles” also earned them a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

During the ceremony, Miley achieved a significant milestone by winning her first Grammy award for Best Pop Solo Performance with “Flowers.”

Later in the evening, “Flowers” clinched the prestigious Record of the Year award, triumphing over formidable contenders such as Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?,” boygenius’ “Not Strong Enough,” Jon Batiste’s “Worship,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire,” SZA’s “Kill Bill,” Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” and Victoria Monét’s “On My Mama.”
