If there’s one celebrity who can almost do no wrong on the red carpet, it’s Rihanna. Her style is fearless, and she’s never afraid to stand out.

On Sunday, the 28-year-old singer attended the 2016 Billboard Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Instead of going down the usual sultry, sexy route on the red carpet, RiRi chose to hide her curves under a vintage dress from Thierry Mugler’s spring/summer 1988 collection!

Taking inspiration from eighties fashion, she wore a brown silk shirt dress, which had a subtle sheen finish, loose sleeves, a cleavage-baring deep v-neckline and an asymmetrical hem that flaunted her toned legs.

Rihanna edged up the vintage frock with a few pieces of bling, including Hearts on Fire bracelets, a Jacob & Co. ring and a huge pair of diamond earrings.

She may be known for her bold red carpet looks, but for the occasion, she opted to go low key. She wore her short dark locks in loose waves with messy fringe and sported soft makeup, with sultry brown eyeshadow and neutral lipstick.

Rihanna completed her look with a pair of multicolored mules by Manolo Blahnik. These “Borli” shoes feature intricate laser-cut suede lace vamps, pointed toes, crystal brooches and about three-inch satin-covered heels.

Rihanna, who took to the stage to perform her ballad, “Love on the Brain,” later picked up the Billboard Chart Achievement Award. She swapped her vintage frock for a floor-length gown from Dries Van Noten’s fall 2016 collection.
