In a new AT&T Wireless commercial, the iconic Lily (also known as actress Milana Vayntrub) was notably missing, but we were greeted with another familiar face, instead: Rosario Dawson!

In the commercial, a customer is greeted by none other than 42-year-old actress Rosario Dawson, who is known best for her roles in The Mandalorian, Rent, Sin City, and Death Proof.

She interrupts his short (and yet unclear) inquiry with a bevy of questions, including the oft-memed statement “Hello, we’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.”

The customer, of course, is confused, but Dawson reveals that she is merely “dramatizing” spam calls, advertising AT&T’s anti-spam software. “We can’t all be that charming,” the actress notes, pointing at a television screen that shows Lily, the usual AT&T spokeswoman, having a blast at a sports game.

As excited as fans were to see Rosario Dawson, some consumers were confused as to why Milana Vayntrub, also known as Lily, only made a small cameo appearance in the commercial. However, Vayntrub has said that she has gotten some less-than-stellar attention from the commercials, which she directs herself.

“Been getting a lot of “why are they placing her body like that in those ads?” Well, I direct the ads. I place myself like that,” Vayntrub tweeted after fans questioned why the actress’ body was mostly concealed by a counter in a recent commercial.

“And it’s because of the thousands of unwelcome comments I receive about my body. You’ve lost the privilege of looking at it until I feel safe again.”

Considering that AT&T Wireless has had to disable the YouTube comments on many of their commercials featuring Vayntrub due to these vile, objectifying comments, we don’t blame the actress for wanting to take a step away from being Lily for a bit. We hope Rosario Dawson doesn’t receive the same treatment!

With the Cannes Film Festival in full swing, in May 2014 we were seeing a myriad of noteworthy looks, but none was quite like the ensemble Rosario Dawson offered.

At a photocall for the 1994 British romantic crime drama film Captives, Cory Booker’s girlfriend showed up in a dress and heels combo that was definitely designed to turn heads.

In one simple outfit, Rosario mixed two bold, outspoken prints that somehow didn’t clash horribly. Her Sportmax peplum dress with a colorful paint splatter print was complemented by Bionda Castana’s “Daphne Bis” harlequin printed pumps — sounds insane, right?

But it worked! Rosario looked nothing short of fabulous, and to top it all off, she debuted a fresh undercut. We applaud her ability to make a statement without appearing gaudy.

Would you dare to mimic Rosario’s fearless style? If yes, try a pair of Bionda Castana’s “Daphne Bis” in a funky dalmatian- or leopard-print variation, as seen on Sophia Bush and Kate Mara.
