Variety gathered some of the most exceptional female luminaries for its 11th Annual Power of Women luncheon held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons in Los Angeles on Friday night.
The event, which was presented by Lifetime and sponsored by Audi and MoroccaOil, celebrated the voices and influence of women in the community. Mariah Carey, Jennifer Aniston, Brie Larson, and Awkwafina were among those who were honored at the luncheon for their philanthropic achievements.
These bold and powerful women, as well as other A-list guests, served up some serious but elegant looks on the carpet.
1. Mariah Carey Glams Up in Open-Toe Heels
Mariah Carey, recognized for her work with Fresh Air Fund’s Camp Mariah, was elegant as usual in her Alexandre Vauthier long black dress.
The floor-sweeping long-sleeved gown was glistening with crystal embellishments and featured a draped plunging neckline that put her cleavage on display.

The 49-year-old singer let her hair down in waves while her makeup flawlessly accentuated her features with peachy blush, lip shade, and eyeshadow.

The Songbird Supreme kept the rest of her look simple. She only selected several rings and minimal open-toe sandals to complete her look.

2. Jennifer Aniston Is Business Chic in Pointy Pumps
Before the premiere of her Apple TV+ comedy-drama web series, The Morning Show, on November 1, Jennifer Aniston attended the Variety luncheon, where she was honored for her work with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The 50-year-old actress nailed business chic in a pinstriped dress by Alexander McQueen. The sleeveless number features padded shoulders and an asymmetrical draped skirt styled with a black wraparound statement belt that highlights her waist.

Jennifer wore her caramel tresses down and applied soft makeup with pink lipstick, blush, and mascara. A pair of dangling earrings, a delicate necklace, a watch, and a pair of black pumps with pointed toes and ankle straps rounded out her look.

3. Brie Larson Looks Hot in Jimmy Choo Pumps
Brie Larson, celebrated for her work with Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), talked about her upcoming movie Just Mercy, based on the best-selling memoir by Bryan Stevenson (available at Amazon), founder of EJI.

The Captain Marvel star stood out in a sophisticated yet edgy red-and-black outfit from Rosetta Getty’s Resort 2020 collection.
She teamed a red lambskin leather belted top, which appeared as a vest, over a black high-neck top with matching red leather flared trousers.

She kept her accessories to a minimum with only a pair of gold earrings and pointy black suede pumps by Jimmy Choo.

4. Awkwafina Gets Playful in Sam Edelman Mules
Nora Lum, professionally known as Awkwafina, was honored for her work with Building Beats.

The 30-year-old actress opted for a more playful look for the event. She slipped in a color-block shirt dress in cobalt blue, white, and yellow with a huge ruffle detail on the pocket from Pyer Moss’ Spring 2020 collection.

The dress was already interesting enough, but the Crazy Rich Asians star decided not to hold back in the accessories department.
She styled her look with a tiny square yellow handbag from Edie Parker, pearl drop earrings from Singapore-based jewelry brand State Property, and showed off her feet in Sam Edelman mules.

These white Sam Edelman Hope mules feature pointed toes and clear PVC trim on the strap across the foot, which provided a modern twist to the classic silhouette.

5. Joey King Wows in Alexander Wang Pumps
Joey King also graced the event, and she put on a chic display, thanks to her stylist Jared Eng.
The young starlet was clad in a black Azzedine Alaia Pre-Fall 2019 dress, which features a sexy crossover bodice with a keyhole, a ribbon detail, and a flouncy skirt that fell above her knees.

The sophisticated look was styled with Eshvi earrings and several rings by Hirotaka, EF Collection, and Levian. A pair of Alexander Wang pumps gave the look some added edge.

The Alexander Wang Rie pumps feature silver-tone ball stud trim, which adds an edge to the classic black pumps. They also have pointed toes and about 4.25-inch heels.
