Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda after the titular princess from the video game The Legend of Zelda. He was a big fan of video games and said he loved the name Zelda because it was strong and beautiful.

Robin Williams said that he and his wife were playing The Legend of Zelda when she was pregnant with their daughter. He said that they were both “addicted” to the game, and they decided to name their daughter after Princess Zelda.

In a 2011 YouTube video shared by GameNews, the father-daughter duo discussed her name’s origins.

In December 2011, Zelda Williams, daughter of Marsha Garces and Robin Williams, was at Spike TV’s 2011 Video Game Awards held at Sony Studios in Los Angeles.

Although Brooklyn Decker was there in Jimmy Choos and Stacy Keibler in Giuseppe Zanottis, 22-year-old Zelda and these Jeffrey Campbells caught our eye.
