Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently revealed that she felt body shamed after being told that she was not “sample-sized.”
It was during the kickoff of this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival, when the 40-year-old star told the story to Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke, as reported by People.
“I’ve been told many things that are difficult to hear,” she said. “In my job, the pressure is so intense you can’t really show the chinks in your armor.”

She continued, “Someone told me yesterday that I wasn’t sample-sized… I was hurt and I discussed it with my family, and I cried to my husband [Nick Jonas], and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not sample size, and that’s a problem, apparently, and most of us are not, and sample size is size 2.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has always been considered as one of the most beautiful women in the world. Always commanding attention wherever she goes, and catching the eye of one of the most sought-after male stars of his generation, Nick Jonas.

The New York Times bestselling author shared on her book, “Unfinished: A Memoir,” her incredible journey from being a little girl in India to one of the world’s most successful stars. Among the topics she discussed were her childhood, transition from Bollywood to Hollywood, and the pressures of being a woman.
Priyanka may have carved her own path to success, but that doesn’t mean that there weren’t hurdles along the way.
In fact, there was a lot that she had to go through, from being called “Plastic Chopra” after a botched nose surgery to her then-manager advising her to “fix” everything about her physical appearance in order to get a foot in the door to Hollywood.

It wasn’t very long ago when Priyanka Chopra was mistaken for Padma Lakshmi by The New Yorker and Rosie O’Donnell made racist comments about her.
Now, her being told that she’s not “sample-sized” did a number on her self-confidence. “…I think sometimes people forget you are even human,” the Quantico star said.
“And those pressures – it’s inexplicable. I can’t explain how it feels when you are sitting down on your couch and you just feel the world coming at you because people have forgotten that you are human,” she added.

The Baywatch actress continued, “I think what you have to do is surround yourself with people who love you and surround yourself with people who care about you, and not about what you can bring to the table and not about what you can do for me. People who want to see you smile and be enriched.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is surrounded with so much love as husband Nick Jonas is always next to her, and daughter Malti Marie makes for a beautiful and adorable new addition to their family.
As she wrote in her memoir, Priyanka proudly declared that “This is my face. This is my body. I might be flawed, but I am me.”

Her confidence may waver sometimes due to rude remarks and malicious comments made by people who don’t really matter in the long run, but she is still her true and authentic self. Being her is enough, and we love her and her little family just the way they are.
