When Behati Prinsloo arrived at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, her choice of footwear offered a study in modern evening glamour.

She paired a vintage Gucci Spring 1998 dress with Alexander Wang’s Blake sandals—a design defined by its 105mm stiletto heel and a draped crystal-embellished chainmail veil.

Her sandals, famously photographed by Claire Rothstein for the Bergdorf Goodman seasonal archives, evoke a distinct 1990s aesthetic.

The draped mesh curtain is designed to catch the light and create fluid movement with every step, making it a perennial favorite for the red carpet.

To complete the look, the Namibian model carried an Alexander Wang pouch in glass crystals and steel chain mesh ($1,995).

This wasn’t Behati’s only memorable appearance at the event. At the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Behati created major headlines with a wardrobe malfunction that briefly disrupted the evening, with Adam stepping in to shield her on the red carpet.

Her look, however, remained softly elegant, anchored by Norman Silverman Diamonds jewelry and a pale pink archival silk Calvin Klein Collection dress designed by Francisco Costa.

Leaning into Alexander Wang’s urban-glamour aesthetic, the Blake sandal’s free-hanging crystal mesh veil shimmers with movement, offset by a sharply engineered wedge-stiletto heel and a modern square toe.
