The best way to describe Jeremy Scott’s first runway show for Moschino Fall 2014 is “fast fashion” — not in the Forever 21 sense but in the literal sense that fast food and junk food were the sources of inspiration for the collection.

Jeremy Scott’s debut collection for Moschino in Fall 2014 didn’t just make headlines—it redefined the brand’s identity for the next decade. With his signature blend of pop culture, satire, and unapologetic kitsch, Scott transformed fast food into high fashion, turning McDonald’s iconography into quilted handbags, bold sweater dresses, and runway-ready glamour. It was the start of a wildly imaginative tenure that spanned everything from Barbiecore to SpongeBob, each collection a joyful rebellion against the fashion industry’s self-seriousness.

But beneath the whimsy was a deeper question: Could this cheeky celebration of mass consumer culture resonate with haute couture clientele—or would it be dismissed as fashion junk food, stylish on the surface but lacking substance?

For Scott, the answer was always clear. As Moschino’s Creative Director from 2013 to 2023, he championed the idea that fashion should spark joy, stir conversation, and above all, be fun. In doing so, he didn’t just dress celebrities like Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj—he invited the world to play dress-up again.

Katy Perry and Anna Dello Russo were among the front-row attendees who fully embraced the playful theme. Katy Perry even modeled (while being booed) a head-to-toe Moschino look for the show.
