The couple arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the 2021 Met Gala looking like the mid-‘60s popular pop-rock hippie duo Sonny and Cher in their outfits from American fashion designer Michael Kors.

Met Gala newcomer Camila Cabello served up a sultry look in a dazzling purple two-piece ensemble, seemingly inspired by the 1920s flapper era.
She teamed a cleavage-baring cropped tank top with a matching floor-sweeping skirt that was ruched below her stomach. She also added a feathered shawl, which she dragged along the carpet.

The sequined outfit also features a thigh-high slit that revealed her shapely legs and custom Jimmy Choo “Liberty” heels in matching purple satin.
Boosting her 5’2” height, these sandals boast 1.5-inch platforms and about 5-inch thick heels. They also have ankle straps and open toes that showed her dark purple pedicure.

Styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the Havana hitmaker accessorized with David Webb jewels, including a statement ring and a pair of drop earrings, and carried a purple clutch with a gold chain-link strap.

Continuing with the dramatic purple theme of her look, makeup artist Patrick Ta used products from Loreal Paris to glam up the Cinderella star.
He applied dreamy purple eyeshadow with mascara to Camila’s face and lifted her lashes with Tweezerman ProMaster Lash Curler.
A swipe of Loreal Paris Colour Riche Lip Colour in the shade Ballerina Shoes rounded out her beauty look.
Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos styled her long tresses in thick waves and parted in the middle.

Meanwhile, Shawn Mendes, who walked the Met Gala red carpet with Hailey Bieber in 2018, went topless underneath a metallic black blazer. He paired the look with belted corduroy pants finished with black John Fluevog boots.
Camila told Vogue that she wanted to take Shawn’s jacket off while posing for photographers. “I almost tried to get him to take that jacket off down there. I was like ‘Take it off! Take it off!’”
The Stitches hitmaker then styled the look with suspenders and added some bling with a necklace, a matching bracelet, and chunky rings.

One day earlier, the two had separate fashion moments after arriving separately at the 2021 MTV VMAs red carpet.
Camila performed her single, Don’t Go Yet, which was nominated for Song of Summer. She ended her performance with a sweet shoutout to her boyfriend, who would be performing next. “Give it up for my guy, Shawn Mendes!”
The 23-year-old In My Blood singer took to the stage with Tainy to perform Summer of Love. The song was also up for Song of Summer, while Shawn was nominated for Best Pop.
Arriving on the red carpet, the 24-year-old Señorita singer wowed in a pink and red gown from Alexis Mabille’s Fall 2021 Couture collection.
It features a pink corset-style bodice with a sweetheart neckline, an oversized red waistband bow, and a flowing red satin skirt that hid her Giuseppe Zanotti “Betty” platform heels.

Adding edge to the look, Camila accessorized with mismatched earrings that included a $1,800 Katkim Crescendo Flare Pave earring, a $1,286 Katkim Crescendo Flare ear cuff, and Melissa Kaye’s Lola Needle 18kt rose-gold earring, which you can get for $2,350 at Mytheresa.
She also wore a $3,450 Melissa Kaye Aria Moon ring and an Aria Jane 18-karat gold, enamel, and diamond ring, available for $5,850 at Net-A-Porter.

Adding some drama to the look, makeup artist Patrick Ta applied bold monochromatic makeup to Camila’s face, with pink eyeshadow, colorful dots on the corner of her eyes, and light pink lip color.
She then wore a long straight low ponytail with a sleek center parting, care of Dimitris Giannetos, and long pink acrylic nails by Tom Bachik.
