In 2005, Rachel McAdams starred alongside Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Bradley Cooper in the hit romantic comedy Wedding Crashers. In the film, she plays Claire Cleary, the daughter of a powerful politician portrayed by Christopher Walken. Her character finds herself entangled in a love triangle with Wilson and Cooper’s characters, adding a layer of complexity to the film’s comedic storyline.

“I use filming as an excuse to take classes. I got my certification in sailing for Wedding Crashers, and now I can handle a 26-foot boat. I played a seamstress once, so I took sewing classes. I love dipping into these other lives,” she told Glamour about learning to sail for the movie.

Behind the Scenes of ‘Wedding Crashers’: McAdams’ Experience
Principal photography began on March 22, 2004, in Washington, D.C., with a 52-day shooting schedule. Just days after filming finished, McAdams spoke about the movie in an interview with IGN.
“I just finished it. We just wrapped last week. It was awesome. It was so much fun. We were shooting in Maryland and Washington, DC. We were sailing around on boats and going on picnics and having barbecues and, you know, working with Owen [Wilson] and Vince [Vaughn] and Chris Walken and Jane Seymour.”
“It was so fun, I remember sitting beside Bradley Cooper, who plays my fiance, we were doing a dinner scene and there were, like, 15 of us around the table and he looked at me and said, ‘What a crazy family!’ You’ve got Chris Walken at the head of the table here and Jane Seymour down here and then everybody filling in-between and then Owen and Vince across from us. What a crazy cast. It’s so rich,” she added.

Rachel McAdams on Reuniting with ‘Wedding Crashers’ Co-Stars
“I got to work with Owen again on Midnight In Paris, so that was super fun,” McAdams told E! News in June 2020 about a possible sequel.
“And I worked with Vince again on True Detective, now I’m just remembering it. But those were very different. So yeah, it’d be nice to go back and have a romp.”
