Shoe Trends 2013: Ask the Experts — Part 2

We recently featured a few of our favorite fashion bloggers and their thoughts on the upcoming year in shoes here. In part 1, we interviewed Katelyn of The Skinny Blonde Girl, Nanooosh of Fashion in My Eyes, and Shevah Vahdatpour of Shevahh.

We got even more feedback from other bloggers, so we had to share their opinions, too! Check out the responses of these four lovely ladies below.

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

Cutouts, like those that have been seen in dresses lately. They work best on sandals, but they have been really popular on boots lately.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

As I can’t walk in heels, I tend to go for show designers who celebrate flat shoes and sandals more often than 7 inch heels. I mostly find the best shoes in charity shops and vintage stores, especially those from the ’90s era with a nice and practical thick, chunky sole.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

My favorite types of shoes are flats with lots of little details or sandals with big thick straps. My favorite shoes at the moment are velvet pumps with fox faces on the toes.

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

Chunky heels and sky-high pointed-toe pumps are my favorite trends. Other trends include architectural silhouettes, embroidery, and transparent heels/straps.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

I love Charlotte Olympia, Barbara Bui, Prada, Valentino, and Theysken’s Theory, but realistically I love the Ferragamo pumps for law school classes every day.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

I would love a pair of basic black pumps from Prada.

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

I’m looking forward to seeing the metallic trend throughout this year, particularly in the form of chunky-heeled sandals with a holographic iridescent sheen. I think they add a very unexpected and futuristic tone to any outfit, and featuring this trend on the footwear is much more subtle than on any other garment. Proenza Schouler has hit the nail on the head with its Resort 2013 collection!

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

Meadham Kirchhoff never fails to leave me in a state of awe when it comes to its footwear collections. Each season, it produces such fun and unique pieces that could easily pass for artwork!

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

I’m currently coveting the Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane boots; they’re dream-worthy!

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

To be honest, I’m not too sure. All I know is that for 2013, I’m going to be wearing a lot of prints, platforms, velvet, and pointed-toe shoes on my feet.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

Miista, To Be Announced, and Lothian.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

Anything from Miista’s spring/summer 2013 collection.
