After a year off the air, the Golden Globe Awards returned to NBC on Tuesday for the 80th edition of the awards ceremony, and Hollywood’s elites flocked back to the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton hotel to mark the occasion.
Last year’s televised ceremony was canceled due to a boycott by various media companies and celebrities over the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). This organization selects Golden Globe nominees and winners.
Following the boycott, the HFPA made efforts to increase the membership diversity of the organization. They’ve added 103 new voters, which were “recruited from international industry organizations, as well as from active outreach to esteemed foreign film festivals and journalist professionals,” the HFPA said in a statement.

“Combined with the current HFPA membership, the total Golden Globe Awards voting body is 52% female, 51.5% racially and ethnically diverse with 19.5% Latinx, 12% Asian, 10% Black and 10% Middle Eastern. The voting body also includes individuals who self-identify as LGBTQIA+. The total number of voters is now 200.”
With the Golden Globes return to television this year, high-profile stars from both TV and film, including Jennifer Coolidge, Selena Gomez, Michelle Yeoh, and Jenna Ortega, took the opportunity to dress up and display their style senses.

1. Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior
Ditching the traditional red carpet black gowns, Anya Taylor-Joy was a ray of sunshine in her yellow Dior Pre-Fall 2023 ensemble.
The 26-year-old actress, who made her uncredited film debut in Vampire Academy, showcased her svelte figure in a two-piece silk outfit composed of a strapless crop top with a bow at the back and a high-waisted maxi skirt with tie detailing around the waist.
With the help of stylist Ryan Hastings, the Dior and Tiffany & Co. ambassador coordinated her sleek lemon yellow outfit with diamond and yellow gold jewelry, of course, by Tiffany & Co.
She wore the Schlumberger Link necklace, a set of matching bangles on each wrist, a pair of Schlumberger Cones with Petals ear clips, and Tiffany T1 rings.

For her glam, makeup artist Georgie Eisdell used Dior makeup to accentuate Taylor-Joy’s features.
She drew attention to her eyes with the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette in 649 Nude Dress, Dior Show Blackout Mascara, On Stage Liner in 091 Matte Black, and Waterproof Powder Eyebrow Pencil in Blond.
The successful movie actress applied the Rouge Blush in 459 Charnelle on Anya’s cheeks and the Rouge Dior in 100 Nude Look on her lips.
Meanwhile, hairstylist Gregory Russell kept the look sleek by styling her long platinum tresses straight with a side twist.

Anya Taylor-Joy received her first Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film at the 2021 Golden Globes ceremony, thanks to her role as Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit.
She was again nominated this year for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for playing Margot in the black comedy horror The Menu, but lost to Michelle Yeoh for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

2. Michelle Williams in Gucci
The 42-year-old actress was up against Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Olivia Colman, and Ana de Armas in the Best Actress category for her role in the Steven Spielberg coming-of-age drama film, The Fabelmans.
Known for her elegant red carpet styles, Michelle Williams did not disappoint when she showed up in an ethereal pale yellow gown by Gucci.
The one-shoulder gown featured cascading ruffles, each layer trimmed with sparkling aqua green sequins. It also had light pleats and creases, a tiered train, and an asymmetric hem that allowed her to showcase her shapely pins and metallic rose-gold Gucci sandals.

Under Kate Young’s expert styling, Williams wore minimal jewelry, including Tiffany & Co. earrings and ring and a Tiffany & Co. Archives watch, to keep the focus on her intricate gown.
Using Chanel Beauty, makeup artist Angela Levin gave Williams’ look a romantic finish with rosy pink lip color, smokey eyeshadow with a hint of shimmer, and a matching blush on her cheeks.
Hairstylist Chris McMillan beautifully coiffed her blonde tresses into an elegant updo with few tendrils left loose to frame her face.

3. Ana de Armas in Louis Vuitton
Ana de Armas received the Best Actress nod for portraying Marilyn Monroe in the biographical film, Blonde.
To celebrate the occasion, the Louis Vuitton ambassador turned to her favorite French fashion house for a one-of-a-kind look.
De Armas wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown that reportedly took a total of 150 hours to complete. Made from 25 meters of silk, the strapless gown featured a structured, boxy silhouette and a geometric front panel embroidered with 800 sequins.
Keeping her neckline bare, the Knives Out actress styled her intricate gown with diamond earrings and a diamond-and-emerald bangle from Louis Vuitton’s High Jewelry collection, curated by stylist Samantha McMillen.

Her glam team opted to give her an effortless beauty look to allow her gown to take center stage.
Hairstylist Jenny Cho created “a soft face-framing style” to complement Ana’s structured gown, while makeup artist Melanie Inglessis mixed modern and old Hollywood glam.
Inglessis said in a statement, “I wanted Ana to look effortless; a combination of the modern woman that she is mixed with old Hollywood glamour, inspired by Marilyn Monroe. We wanted her skin to be luminous, complemented by a sharp cat eye and a perfectly stained rosy-mauve lip.”

4. Margot Robbie in Chanel
She’s set to play Barbie in the first live-action Barbie movie, scheduled to be released in the UK and the US in July.
And on Tuesday, Margot Robbie seemingly channeled her inner Barbie as she attended the Golden Globes in a Barbiecore pink gown by Chanel.
Showcasing her figure, the bespoke pastel pink number, made from light pink Chantilly lace and silk tulle, hugged every inch of Robbie’s curves.
It featured an eye-catching silhouette with a halter neck and a fishtail hem, designed with a chevron pattern and embellished with bugle beads, sequins, and faux feathers. According to Vogue, the dress took Chanel artisans 750 hours to make.

Robbie worked with stylist Kate Young for her Golden Globes look, which was styled with a Chanel High Jewellery Comete Brooch in 18K white gold and diamonds and a Chanel Soleil Ganse white gold and diamond ring.
The Babylon star, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in the period comedy-drama, wore Barbie-inspired makeup done by Pati Dubroff. The Chanel makeup artist applied light pink eyeshadow on Margot’s lids with a hint of pink blush on her cheeks and a swipe of dark pink lipstick on her lips.
Meanwhile, hairstylist Bryce Scarlett used products from KMS to create Margot’s loose waves.

5. Jessica Chastain in Oscar de la Renta
Jessica Chastain may have lost to Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout) in the Best Actress in a Limited Series category, but she did leave a lasting visual impression on the red carpet in her Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2023 gown.
The $14,990 light-catching gown was cut from sheer champagne polyamide with silk lining, creating an illusion of a see-through commando gown. It featured a column silhouette, a moon crest neckline, and 16,000 crushed crystals.
It took the modistes in the Oscar de la Renta atelier over 585 hours to hand-embroider in a spider web-effect formation.

Teaming up with celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart, Chastain’s look was given additional sparkle with a Gucci Flora 18k ring. A pair of nude Casadei “City Lights Flora” sandals rounded out her stunning nude look.
The George & Tammy star’s glam team decided on an old Hollywood beauty look. Hairstylist Renato Campora drew inspiration from Grace Kelly to create Jessica’s elegant and chic updo, while makeup artist Kristofer Buckle used Charlotte Tilbury products for a classic finish.

6. Lily James in Versace
Lily James has adopted a new style direction since transforming into Pamela Anderson in the Hulu biographical drama miniseries Pam & Tommy, which earned her a Golden Globe Best Actress nomination in a Limited Series.
The Pride and Prejudice and Zombies actress is now leaning into an ultra-glam yet sexier approach, which was evident on her Golden Globes red carpet look.
Stylist Rebecca Corbin Murray selected James’ outfit, which featured a vibrant red gown by Atelier Versace. It had a cleavage-baring square-cut cropped bustier with bands crossing the midriff, cutouts, and a billowing skirt with voluminous ruffles and a long train.

She glammed up further with diamonds by Harry Winston, which included a pair of Sunflower diamond earrings, a matching sunflower medium diamond choker necklace, a sparkling cluster diamond ring, and a small sunflower diamond Ring.
For an ultra-glam finish, makeup artist Nina Park highlighted Lily James’ beautiful features with Charlotte Tilbury makeup. She applied a hint of metallic shimmer on her eyelids with a soft winged liner and fluttery lashes.
Hairstylist Halley Brisker gave her an old Hollywood ‘90s bombshell look with Great Lengths Hair Tape Extensions that added volume to the front part of her hair.

7. Daisy Edgar-Jones in Gucci
Daisy Edgar-Jones landed a Golden Globe nod for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the true crime drama miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven.
Making her presence felt, the 24-year-old actress embraced the “underwear as outerwear” fashion trend in a custom black lace gown by Gucci.
The flattering lingerie-inspired number featured a form-fitting corset-style lace bodice that transitioned into a voluminous tiered skirt with a V-shaped velvet fabric on the front and lace cutouts along the hips.
Edgar-Jones commissioned stylist Nicky Yates to curate her Golden Globes look, which was styled with Cartier jewelry.

The Where the Crawdads Sing star stayed classy with a pair of Etincelle De Cartier earrings in 18k white gold, each set with two square-cut diamonds. She also wore a matching $10,000 Etincelle De Cartier ring and a $20,300 Maillon Panthere ring, set with 175 brilliant-cut diamonds.
Hairstylist Kylee Heath swept Daisy’s brunette locks back into a bun and parted her signature bangs in the middle to frame her face, while makeup artist Nina Park showcased the British actress’ natural features using Chanel Beauty makeup.
She applied the N°1 De Chanel Revitalizing Foundation in BD21 with Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Powder in Light on her face before adding the N°1 De Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm 2 in Healthy Pink and Joues Contrast Blush 72 in Rose Initial on her cheeks and the Le Crayon Levres in 158 Rose Naturel and Rouge Allure Velvet 60 in Intemporelle on her lips.
To highlight her eyes, she used the Stylo Ombre Et Contour 12 in Contour Clair, Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural eyeshadow palette in Tender, Stylo Yeux Waterproof 10 and 943 eyeliners, and Inimitable Waterproof 10 in Noir.

8. Heidi Klum in Germanier
Never one to shy away from a fashion risk, Heidi Klum made a bold arrival at this year’s Golden Globes, wearing a revealing Germanier Spring 2023 mini dress.
The 49-year-old supermodel’s dress, designed by the known maximalist, was a feast for the eyes with its intricate details and bold elements.
Littered with silver sequins, the upcycled dress had sheer nude cutout panels that showed a glimpse of her side boobs, topped with a lavender feather boa worn diagonally across her body over her right shoulder.

Tom Kaulitz’s wife amped up the glitz with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, including a pair of 80-carat purple sapphire earrings and several rings.

She then coordinated the rest of her look with a silver clutch and silver Tom Ford padlock stiletto sandals featuring the label’s signature lock-and-key charms suspended from the buckled straps. They’re available in a number of different colors at Farfetch.
