The SAG-AFTRA Foundation presented Hannah Waddingham with a career retrospective on April 1, 2024, celebrating her 20-year career as an actress, singer, and TV presenter. The event, held at The SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Center in New York City, highlighted her evolution from West End powerhouse to global screen favorite.

Best known for her award-winning role as Rebecca Welton in the sports comedy-drama Ted Lasso—which earned her a SAG Award, a Critics’ Choice Award, and an Emmy—Waddingham arrived in a striking red cardigan-and-skirt co-ord that immediately turned heads.

Even as she juggles promo duties for her upcoming action-comedy The Fall Guy, starring Barbie’s Ryan Gosling and Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt, Waddingham brought full Rebecca Welton poise in her red knit Self Portrait look—elegant, polished, and unmistakably commanding.

A Refined Self-Portrait Knit Ensemble That Highlights Waddingham’s Signature Sophistication

While Self-Portrait is well-loved for its contemporary silhouettes, Waddingham’s ensemble has a classic feel that perfectly encapsulates her sophisticated style.

The outfit, which is from the London-based label’s Resort 2024 collection, consists of a $555 red knit cardigan with a cleavage-baring V-neckline and a flattering cropped cut, and a matching $380 red knit midi pencil skirt with a high waist and a sculpted fit.

I adore the ensemble’s girl-boss vibe and how it highlights Waddingham’s curves. However, the gold beads that trim the pockets and center front don’t appeal to me. These decorations, except for the crystal and pearl flower-shaped ornaments, feel too festive… or more like giving a post-holiday vibe.

Finishing Touches: Gold Jewelry and Metallic Louboutins for a Unified Red-Carpet Moment

With the help of her trusted stylist, James Yardley, Waddingham maintained a coordinated look by securing a pair of large gold hoop earrings and adorning her white, French-manicured hands with a couple of gold rings.

Hannah wore metallic gold Christian Louboutin sandals to accentuate her red pedicure and add a flirtatious touch to her classic two-piece skirt suit.

These sandals, designed with crisscross front straps, a slingback strap, and about 5-inch stiletto heels, further enhanced her impressive 5’11” frame. I like how well the ensemble is put together, but again, it’s just too festive for my taste.

Old-Hollywood Waves and Pink Glam Bring a Feminine Finish

Adding to the look’s vintage appeal, Waddingham fashioned her signature short, platinum blonde hair in tousled waves with a deep side part.

She then wore soft pink lipstick and blush, accentuating her blue eyes with fluttery eyelashes and eyeliner.

A Sleek Agent Provocateur Look for Her Late Show Appearance

Earlier in the day, Hannah Waddingham dropped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to discuss her upcoming film, The Fall Guy.

She wore a black ensemble from British lingerie label Agent Provocateur for her TV appearance.

As you can tell, I love this look more than the red ensemble she wore to her career retrospective. At first glance, it might look like a sleek, sleeveless black dress, but it’s actually composed of two separate pieces: the “Julietta” waistcoat, priced at $820, and its coordinating pencil skirt, priced at $540. Together, they create a seamless, elegant appearance.

Tailored Silhouettes and Lace Accents Showcase Agent Provocateur’s Signature Glamour

The fitted bustier-style top exudes a femme-fatale vibe, with Leavers lace details peeking out from the low-cut neckline. It also has silk lapels and lining, decorative tonal front buttons, faux pockets, and princess seams that flatter her figure.

I’m captivated by how the pencil skirt adds a layer of sophistication while invoking a sense of sensuality. It elegantly embraces every contour of Waddingham’s hourglass figure, further accentuated by the delicate cut-away Leavers lace scallop trims along the side seams, adding an exquisite detail to the ensemble.

It comes with faux silk satin pockets, a silk satin waistband, a risqué front slit, and a back vent for a comfortable stride.

I appreciate Waddingham’s choice of footwear—a pair of black pointed-toe slingback pumps—as they added to the ensemble’s elegance.

The Fall Guy: A Romantic Take on the 1980s Action-Adventure Series
