While conversing with the host on a small platform, she was overcome with emotion, especially when she realized Lopez was standing directly behind her, moving towards her.
Larson exclaimed, “Oh my God. I’m gonna cry. I can’t deal with J. Lo.”
The host acknowledged, “This is how we all feel. Trust me, we all get this way. I even almost cried.”
She shared, “No, she is the one who made me want to be an actor. I can’t. No, I’m going to cry,” throwing her hands to her face as Ben Affleck’s wife ascended the steps.
Despite appearing flustered and at a loss for words, the 13 Going on 30 star admirably “dealt” with Lopez, immediately expressing her deep admiration, saying, “You mean too much to me.”
“I saw Selena, and it made me want to be an actor. And you’ve always meant so much to me,” Larson revealed, reminiscing about Lopez’s impactful 1997 film.
As both women became even more emotional, the Captain Marvel actress referred to the moment as “a dream” of hers.
Expressing gratitude, she told Lopez, “Your work ethic is so important. Thank you. I’ve been wanting to say that to you for a long time, so I’m really – I didn’t think it was going to be right now. OK. I’m gonna have to go do a shot of tequila or something.”
