💫 Jump to a Star:
Following the success of its first three seasons, the series was renewed for a fourth season in February 2023 and was released in two parts in October and November 2024. Most recently, in November 2024, Netflix confirmed that a fifth and final season is officially on the way.

But it’s not just the treasure hunts and plot twists that have fans hooked—Outer Banks is also a goldmine of fashion inspiration. From red carpet appearances to character-driven costume design, the cast continues to make waves both on and off the screen.

Let’s take a closer look at the standout stars of Outer Banks, focusing on their stylish Season 3 red carpet looks, plus their heights, backgrounds, and real-life relationships.
1. Chase Stokes Height (6′ 1″ / 1.85 m) as John B Routledge
John B Routledge, leader of the Pogues, began the journey when his father went missing at sea. John B is courageous, yet his fearlessness and lack of fear often get the group into trouble.

The 30-year-old actor Chase Stokes successfully portrayed a 16-year-old boy in the drama. While his role as John B on Outer Banks was his breakthrough performance, he initially declined the role.

His primary focus in recent years has been Outer Banks, but he did guest star on TNT’s Tell Me Your Secrets in 2021 and is due to star in Netflix’s The Uglies film adaptation opposite Joey King and Laverne Cox. It was also announced in June 2022 that he would play the lead role of Forrest Allen in the film Music Got Me Here.
In his personal life, Chase Stokes dated Madelyn Cline, who played his on-screen girlfriend. They had been together for over a year before confirming their split in November 2021. In January 2023, the actor was caught holding hands with country singer Kelsea Ballerini at a football game, sparking rumors of a romance between the two.

Chase Stokes, who stands at 6 feet 1 inch (185.4 cm) and wears a US men’s size 12 shoe, elevated his presence at the premiere in an all-black Tom Ford ensemble.
Mixing textures with a crepe jacket, leopard jacquard shirt, and iridescent trousers, he anchored the look with bold Tom Ford alligator-print Kurt Chelsea boots—proving that black can be anything but boring.

2. Madelyn Cline Height (5ft 6 / 167.6 cm) as Sarah Cameron
Early in the series, Sarah is presented as the “Kook Princess,” the privileged daughter of a prominent Outer Banks family. She initially resists John B and his escapades, but she becomes an honorary Pogue thanks to John B’s influence.

Madelyn Cline was born and raised in Goose Creek, a small town near Charleston, where the series is filmed. Before she booked Outer Banks, she had recurring appearances on shows, including Stranger Things and The Originals.
After her blockbuster appearance as Sarah Cameron, the American actress continued working with Netflix. She also appeared alongside Daniel Craig in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
After her split with on-screen boyfriend Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline was briefly linked to music executive Zack Bia in late 2021, though he denied they were dating. She later dated singer Jackson Guthy from 2022 to early 2023. Following that relationship, she was romantically involved with comedian Pete Davidson from mid-2023 until their reported breakup in early 2024.
Standing at 5 feet 6 inches (167.6 cm) and wearing a US size eight shoe, Madelyn Cline subtly elongated her silhouette at the premiere by pairing her shimmering Stella McCartney Ice Blue Crystal Strass maxi dress with leg-lengthening Jimmy Choo Minny satin sandals.

3. Madison Bailey Height (5ft 7 ½ / 171.5 cm) as Kiara Carrera
Like Sarah, Kiara Carrera comes from a privileged background on the Outer Banks, but she was recruited by the Pogue family long before the show happened. She is the voice of logic and humor among the Pogues.
Born in Kernersville and reared in Charleston by her adoptive parents, Madison Bailey is a native of North Carolina, just like the Outer Banks character she portrays.

The American actress got her start in the industry in 2015, appearing in Mr. Mercedes and Constantine. In 2018, she was cast as Wendy Hernandez in Black Lightning. Two seasons of the show went by before she was chosen as Kiara in Outer Banks.
Madison was also featured in the American Horror Story franchise between seasons of Outer Banks. She played Kelley in an episode of the spinoff series American Horror Stories.
In 2020, Madison, who identifies as pansexual, began a relationship with basketball player Mariah Linney.
Standing at 5 feet 7 ½ inches (171.5 cm) and wearing a US size seven shoe, Madison Bailey made a striking entrance in a figure-hugging Tom Ford gown featuring liquid lime sequins and sheer black panels, elevated further by black ankle-strap platform sandals that accentuated her long legs.

4. Jonathan Daviss Height (5ft 11 ½ / 181.6 cm) as Pope Heyward
Pope Heyward is the Pogue operation’s mastermind. He’s a brilliant achiever whose plans for the future are sometimes disrupted by his friends. Pope is a little warier than the others, but he’d give up everything for the Pogues.

Even though Jonathan Daviss’ Outer Banks character is a native North Carolinian, Jonathan was raised in the South. The actor is a native Texan who grew up and attended high school in Conroe. He and his family relocated to Los Angeles when he finished school so that he could establish an acting career.
The young actor’s resume includes roles in the NBC series Revolution and the 2018 film Summer. After appearing in movies like Deliverance Creek and Edge of the Earth, Jonathan landed the lead role of Pope on Outer Banks.
Jonathan participated in Do Revenge opposite Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke for Netflix, joining the ranks of his other co-stars who have continued to appear in Netflix productions.

5. Rudy Pankow Height (6′ / 1.83 m) as JJ Maybank
JJ Maybank’s unpredictable behavior and fiery temper make him an ace card for the Pogues. Yet he’s also entirely trustworthy and laid-back, and his pals can always count on him to make them laugh when needed.

Rudy Pankow hails from Ketchikan, Alaska, where he compares favorably to the show’s primary location in the Outer Banks.
The American actor originally planned to enroll in culinary school after graduating high school. Still, he changed his mind after spending time in Los Angeles with friends and taking an acting class.

Like many of his co-stars, Rudy’s breakout role was on Outer Banks after he had appeared in a few short films and on episodes of shows like The Politician and Solved. His other performances include a role as a young Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie.

Like several of his co-stars in the popular Netflix show, Rudy met the love of his life while filming. His current girlfriend is Elaine Siemek, an assistant to the show’s creator and showrunner, Jonas Pate.

6. Austin North Height (5ft 9 / 175 cm) as Topper Thornton
Topper Thornton, previously Sarah’s lover, is known as the “King of the Kooks.” He keeps trying to shield her from harm despite frequently conflicting with John B and the rest of the Pogues.

Austin North started acting in 2011 on the Disney XD show Kickin’ It, but he is most recognized for his role as Logan Watson on the Disney Channel show I Didn’t Do It.
In addition, before landing his role on Outer Banks on Netflix, the American actor guest-starred on shows including Jessie and All Night.
On a more personal note, he dated Duck Dynasty actress Sadie Robertson for four months before they broke up in 2018.

7. Drew Starkey Height (6ft 1 ½ / 186.7 cm) as Rafe Cameron
Rafe Cameron, Sarah’s older brother and Ward’s son, is a dangerous and unstable man who is constantly acting aggressively and violently.
He has deep ties to the Outer Banks’ criminal underworld, but his family’s wealth and connections keep him safe.

Drew Starkey attended Western Carolina University’s Stage and Screen program while growing up in Hickory. After graduating in 2016, he moved to Atlanta to pursue a career as an actor.
The American star has a diverse acting resume, including roles in Love, Simon, Ozark, and Scream: Resurrection. In 2022, he co-starred with Odessa A’zion in Hulu’s Hellraiser revival and played a recurring part on Chris Pratt’s The Terminal List, which aired on Amazon Prime Video.

8. Carlacia Grant Height (5ft 6 / 167.6 cm) as Cleo
John B and Sarah’s encounter with Cleo occurred during Season 2 while hiding in the Bahamas. Cleo, who is street-smart and tough, joins the Pogues at the end of Season 2.

In an interview with Sheen magazine, Carlacia Grant said that she began her career in acting by participating in plays and pageants.
The American television actress said, “My parents, being West Indian, never considered being an actor a real career at first. Finally, my mom caved in after constantly begging her and agreeing to help me do it. We had a lot of challenges along the way, but it eventually worked out.”
While her breakthrough role is on Outer Banks, she debuted on television in the 2016 Roots remake on the History Channel and has since appeared in Greenleaf and The Resident, among other projects.

9. Charles Esten Height (6ft 1 / 185.4 cm) as Ward Cameron
Throughout the first two seasons, Sarah Cameron’s father, Ward, frequently acts as an enemy of the Pogues. Ward is a well-respected member of society, but he has also fabricated his death and used his connections with his kids for financial gain.

Charles Esten, currently best recognized for his dramatic performances, began his career in the industry as a comedic actor. The American performer was a regular on Drew Carey’s improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway? in the 1990s.
His performance on Nashville from 2012 to 2018, opposite Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, earned him critical recognition after his memorable appearances on shows including Married… with Children, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and The Office.
Charles Esten has been happily married to his high school sweetheart, Patty Hanson Puskar, for over three decades. Together, they share three children.

While Season 3 captivated audiences with major twists and bold fashion, Season 4 has since premiered in two parts (October and November 2024), and a highly anticipated fifth and final season is officially on the way.
