Rather than chasing trends, many of the night’s strongest outfits relied on proportion and finish—minimal sandals to elongate the leg, sculptural pumps to sharpen silhouettes, and platform styles to add height and presence. From Billie Eilish’s chunky sneakers to delicate evening sandals and high-gloss patent pumps, the footwear choices anchored each outfit as much as the clothing itself.
Below, a closer look at the standout outfits and the shoes that made them work.
1. Dua Lipa’s Bridal-Inspired Alexander Wang & White Sandals
Dua Lipa, who presented the Best New Artist award to Billie Eilish, took to the stage in a white vintage-inspired two-piece look from Alexander Wang.
Putting her assets on display, the bridal-inspired outfit features a corset-style cropped top with a cleavage-baring draped neckline and spaghetti straps. She wore it with a slinky silk maxi skirt that accentuated her curves.
Kudos to stylist Lorenzo Posocco for this chic look, which was completed with Maria Tash jewelry and a pair of white sandals.

To further the ‘90s vibe, makeup artist Samantha Lau applied glitter-packed two-tone blue eyeshadow, mascara, and nude brown lip color. Hairstylist Chris Appleton styled Dua’s two-toned tresses into a top knot with a few strands left loose to frame her face.
For her nails, Mei Kawajiri created a pink-and-white checkered pattern, encrusted with tiny crystals.

2. Ella Mai’s Red Giorgio Armani Gown & Stuart Weitzman Sandals
British singer Ella Mai was nominated for Best R&B Album, which went to Anderson Paak’s Ventura. She was also up for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, but lost to Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas O’Connell.
Although the 25-year-old singer didn’t take home any awards, she still looked like a winner in her custom red Giorgio Armani gown. She flashed her leg and showed an ample amount of cleavage in the bright red number that features a strapless scoop neckline, a waistband, and a draped ruffle detail.

Makeup artist Emily Cheng opted for a soft glam look for Ella Mai. She applied red smoky eye makeup to the singer to complement her dress, winged eyeliner, mascara, and nude lipstick.
Hairstylist Kahh Spence pulled her tresses back into a neat center-parted bun with face-framing strands.

Stylist Dianne Garcia gave Ella Mai’s look a dose of sparkle with a diamond necklace and earrings by Harry Kotlar and rings and a bracelet by Yvan Tufenkjian. A pair of red satin Stuart Weitzman sandals completed her look.

3. H.E.R.’s Dsquared2 Kimono Dress & Giuseppe Zanotti Betty Sandals
Gabriella Wilson, better known as H.E.R., brought some color to the red carpet in a Dsquared2 kimono-style dress. Giving off some geisha vibes, the flowy number featured multiple prints and colors. It was tied up with a wide gold obi belt, which highlighted her figure.
H.E.R. went home empty-handed after losing all five of her nominations at this year’s Grammys.

To complement her colorful look, makeup artist Marissa Vossen applied glittery purple eye shadow and red lipstick on the singer’s face. Hairstylist Nina Monique pulled her tresses up into a textured bun and laid her edges.

She further accessorized with a selection of Sarah Weinstock jewelry and a pair of rose-tinted Gentle Monster sunnies for a touch of cool. Style guru Wouri Vice masterminded H.E.R.’s look.

To round out her look, she wore a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Betty’ sandals in burnt brown velvet.

4. Sophie Turner’s Louis Vuitton Mini & Cutout Patent Pumps
Sophie Turner skipped the usual red carpet gown and instead brought high fashion to the ceremony, wearing a Louis Vuitton Spring 2020 outfit. Putting on a leggy display, the ensemble features a black ruffle mini skirt and a sleeveless black top with multicolored beads.
She accompanied her then-husband, Joe Jonas, at the ceremony, where he was nominated with his brothers, Nick and Kevin, for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Joe looked handsome in a blue-and-gold brocade bomber suit by Ermenegildo Zegna, with matching trousers and a black turtleneck.

Sophie’s glam squad crafted her glam goth look. Makeup artist Georgie Eisdell applied bold fuchsia lipstick with black mascara, soft pink eyeshadow, and blush. She then wore her blonde hair sleek and straight, courtesy of hairstylist Christian Wood.

Stylist Kate Young finished off the look with cut-out pumps. Sophie towered over her husband, Joe Jonas, in black patent pumps with pointed toes, buckled ankle straps, and cutouts at the sides.

5. Danielle Jonas’ Ice-Blue J’Aton Couture & Sam Edelman Sandals
Danielle Jonas, the wife of Kevin Jonas, opted for a floor-sweeping icy blue gown by J’Aton Couture. She showed off her svelte figure in the semi-sheer, sequin-embellished number with a strapless neckline and a thigh-high slit.
Like his brother, Kevin Jonas also wore a jacket by Ermenegildo Zegna. It’s a gold single-button jacket designed with eagle prints. He paired it with black trousers and black velvet shoes.

Working a Disney princess look, hairstylist Josie Sanchez styled Danielle’s brunette locks in side-parted voluminous waves, cascading over her right shoulder. Makeup artist Liz Castellanos glammed up Danielle’s look with a swipe of silver eyeshadow, black mascara, and pale pink lipstick.

Styled by Morgan Pinney, Danielle completed her ensemble with white satin sandals by Sam Edelman.

6. Bebe Rexha’s Crystal Chainmail Suit & Black Platform Sandals
Bebe Rexha stood out from a sea of gowns as she suited up in a custom Christian Cowan power suit. Giving off a lady boss vibe, Bebe’s outfit included an oversized tuxedo and a revealing see-through chainmail turtleneck fashioned from black and clear crystals.
Stylist Jason Rembert crafted Bebe Rexha’s look, which was finished off with a pair of black platform sandals.

Makeup artist Ash Holm kept her beauty look soft and simple, highlighting her eyes with mascara and peachy eyeshadow with a hint of glitter dust. She also applied soft pink blush and matching lip gloss, creating a plump look.
Her shoulder-length blonde tresses were swept to one side and styled in tousled waves.

7. JoJo’s Galactic Rhea Costa Gown & Crystal-Strap Sandals
Jojo has been in the industry since she was 13. And on Sunday, she picked up her first Grammy award for Best R&B Song for her single, Say So, which features R&B singer-songwriter PJ Morton. This also marked Jojo’s very first Grammy nomination.
The 29-year-old singer took to the stage in a Rhea Costa glittery, galactic-blue dress, which showed a hint of cleavage and a whole lot of leg. It features a strapless, straight neckline, hand-draped detail, and a risky hip-high slit.

Jojo looked hot with her smoky eye makeup and a tousled, wet-look hairstyle. She also wore bold brows, taupe lipstick, and a flush of color on her cheeks.

Stylist Scot Louie gave Jojo’s look some extra sparkle with a piece of thigh jewelry from Lace by Tanya and statement rings and earrings from Stefere Jewelry. For her feet, Jojo slipped into a pair of silver sandals with crystal-embellished thin straps.

8. Giuliana Rancic’s Rhea Costa Cape Gown & Louboutin Planetava Sandals
E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic also opted for a Rhea Costa creation. She channeled her inner goddess in a pink silk tulle gown that featured ruched draping and a one-shoulder cape. It also had a thigh-high slit that allowed her to show off her slender legs.

She styled her blonde locks in side-parted waves and wore shimmery pink eyeshadow, matching lipstick, mascara, and winged eyeliner.

Wearing crystal-encrusted bracelets, rings, and earrings, Giuliana completed her look with Christian Louboutin ‘Planetava’ sandals.

These black suede sandals feature gold leather ankle straps with an array of gleaming gold studs.

9. Jameela Jamil’s Georges Chakra Gown & Studded Lace-Up Boots
British actress Jameela Jamil was on hand at the ceremony to support her boyfriend of five years, James Blake, who was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.
She walked the red carpet in a Georges Chakra Fall 2019 Couture gown featuring tiers of black and electric blue paillette shingles. It also had a mesh cutout panel on the skirt, which showed a glimpse of her legs.

Jameela simply let her signature long raven tresses down. She then complemented her dress with metallic purple eyeshadow and finished off her beauty look with a swipe of bold pink lipstick.

She kept her accessories to a minimum to allow her gown to take center stage. Instead of wearing dainty heels, Jameela opted to rock a pair of croc-effect studded lace-up boots from Pretty Little Thing.
