Jessica Alba has never shied away from self-expression. Whether through her small, meaningful tattoos or her trendsetting shoe choices, she has built a reputation for weaving personality into her style.

Known for films like The Fantastic Four and Honey, the actress and entrepreneur also carved her place in fashion history during the early 2010s—most memorably with her love of Isabel Marant’s cult-favorite wedge sneakers.

It’s this same instinct for expression that carried over to her body art. Like her shoe choices, Alba’s tattoos reflect moments in her life—sometimes bold, sometimes regretted, but always part of her evolving aesthetic.

Back in January 2014, she perfectly blended both sides of that identity while visiting West Hollywood’s Prix Tattoo Shop, stepping out in a chic mix of casual denim and designer staples: a Zadig & Voltaire Love Deluxe Retro Bag, Black Orchid Black Jewel Mid-Rise Jeggings in Ikait, a Janessa Leone Sara Hat in Smoke Blue, and statement-making Isabel Marant Caleen studded boots.

Jessica Alba’s Delicate Tattoos Tell a Story of Style, Sentiment, and Regret

Jessica Alba may not be covered in bold, traditional ink, but she has experimented with a few small tattoos—some of which she later admitted she regrets.

Her first known design, a daisy and ladybug on the back of her neck, was a sentimental piece she got in 2007 as part of a bonding moment with her mother and aunt.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Alba admitted that one tattoo—a small bow on her lower back—was a decision she quickly came to regret.

She laughed it off as a “tramp stamp,” explaining she got it during a breakup and wasn’t in the right frame of mind. The impulsive ink feels worlds away from the polished, sophisticated style and businesswoman persona she’s cultivated in the years since.

In a 2016 interview with Allure, Alba reflected on her younger choices, admitting she wished she had realized that “tattoos are forever.”

She noted that what feels meaningful at 18 often loses its significance years later, adding that she no longer connects with some of her early ink. Like many, Alba has had a few designs lasered away—an option made easier by her successful career.

Not all of Alba’s tattoos are regrets. On her left wrist, she wears a delicate piece of jewelry featuring Sanskrit script that reads “Padma,” or “sacred lotus,” which she has kept over the years.

More recently, she collaborated with celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo to add three constellation designs to her forearm—symbols of her children, Honor, Haven, and Hayes. Unlike her earlier ink, these pieces were chosen with meaning and permanence in mind.

While Alba’s tattoos tell a story of personal expression, her shoe choices often speak just as loudly about her style.

In early February 2013, we featured her in black Isabel Marant wedge sneakers—a trend she championed during the early 2010s. Just a few days later, she was spotted in yet another pair while visiting her office in Los Angeles.
