From the Directors Guild Awards to the Art Director Guild Awards, a lot happened during the past weekend. But the industry’s brightest stars were out in full force at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday for the 76th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).

The 2023 ceremony was attended by some of this year’s most prominent nominees, including Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Ana de Armas, and some notable guests, like Lily James and the Prince and Princess of Wales, all clad in glamorous designer looks.

From Julianne Moore’s ‘70s feathered look and Anya Taylor-Joy’s trendy hooded dress to Cynthia Erivos’ metallic gown, let’s take a look at some of the most interesting outfits at the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet, dubbed as the British Oscars.

1. Julianne Moore in Saint Laurent

Julianne Moore looked effortlessly elegant in a black Anthony Vaccarello-designed Saint Laurent strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a gathered bodice that was tied to the side of the waist.

Celebrity stylist Kate Young gave the otherwise very simple column dress a touch of ‘70s flair with the addition of the white feathered stole draped over her arms.

Also opting for a feathered look was Jodie Turner-Smith, who made a stunning entrance in a vivid purple Gucci gown.

While the sheer neckline and the metallic sequined panels were enough to draw attention, the addition of the cascading ombre feather embellishments made the ensemble even more eye-catching.
