Hulu just announced its upcoming docuseries, Mastermind, based on the life of Dr. Ann Burgess of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit on Friday.

Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning are set to produce the four-part documentary under their production company Lewellen Pictures, with Campfire Studios.

The true-crime series follows forensic nurse Burgess, who transformed how authorities handle serial murder investigations.

As per the official logline, Mastermind “tells the harrowing stories of infamous criminal cases through the unique lens of the woman who helped solve them – Burgess, who spend her nearly six-decade career hunting serial killers and advocating for justice.”

Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning formed their own production company, Lewellen Pictures, in 2021, intending to develop films, television projects, and podcasts.

The first project under the Fanning sisters’ company is reportedly a crime thriller TV adaptation of Megan Miranda’s novel The Last House Guest.

Last week, the Maleficent star looked the epitome of a girl boss as she attended the Daily Front Row’s 7th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, where she presented the Magazine of the Year award to W’s editor-in-chief Sara Moonves.

Opting for a classic minimalist aesthetic, she chose a two-piece black and white ensemble from Givenchy’s Fall 2023 collection.

It featured a black maxi skirt and a tucked silky cream-colored blouse with a floor-length pussy bow and a navel-deep keyhole slit.

Fanning kept her look elegant, evoking quiet luxury by accessorizing with minimalist Cartier jewelry and Manolo Blahnik heels.

She was assisted by her trusted stylist Samantha McMillen, whose high-profile clients include Brie Larson, Kate Bosworth, and Ana de Armas.

Hairstylist Jenda Alcorn coiffed her platinum tresses in a neat updo. At the same time, makeup artist Erin Monroe accentuated her blue eyes with cat-eye makeup and added a sweep of pink blush and bold red lipstick.
