At the Christy premiere, Sydney Sweeney turned the BFI London Film Festival into her own runway, dazzling in a custom Alexander McQueen gown and height-boosting white platform heels.

The blush pink corset and lace skirt perfectly captured the modern ‘lingerie-as-outerwear’ trend. In the biopic sports drama, Sweeney portrays former professional boxer Christy Martin, who broke barriers in the male-dominated sports in the 1990s. The film follows Martin’s rise to fame as America’s most famous female boxer and the shocking turn in her life when her husband attempted to kill her in 2010.

But unlike the fierce fighter she plays on screen, Sydney went for something softer and more romantic on the red carpet. Still, she paid a subtle tribute to Christy’s signature pink ring attire, choosing a gown in the same color.

As Molly explained in her interview with Vogue, she wanted to showcase a different side of Sydney’s style, veering away from her usual romantic, princess-like looks while maintaining her feminine charm. I still found the look romantic, though, but it was a couture dream.

The custom gown was a vision in pale pink satin and lace. Its corseted bodice with structured boning perfectly sculpted Sydney’s frame, while the delicately gathered bust enhanced its soft, feminine look. It also had a lace-bolero-style neckline, embroidered with glass beads and crystals, that added to its elegance.
